S40 Playoffs - Round 3
West
15 - 2 -- S.Florida Killer Pythons def. Woerth Shamrocks - We expected another win for S. Florida to reach the conference championship but what we got was a somewhat close game between S. Florida and Planet (21-7). Someone needs to check what Planet is putting in their Gatorade. Woerth arrives with a win over Carolina (17-7) in which Woerth played a solid game with a mixture of run and pass to solidify the win over Carolina. In this matchup, S. Florida played Woerth early in the season to an impressive 44-0 win. S. Florida's defense pulverized Woerth offense in the match. S. Florida will continue their rush but the question is how much mixture of rQB and HB we will see. It is going to be up to Woerth's DC to be the major factor coupled with an offense outing better than the regular season match. I do not see Woerth's passing game working too well against S. Florida's defense. S. Florida's defense is tops in the league and always has a solid outing in every game. Woerth has always played consistently strong in the playoffs but one wonders if S. Florida just has Woerth's number. Woerth needs to boost to level 60 to start with. We saw a similar problem in the S39 championship where S. Florida beat Woerth 77-7.
East
13 - 0 -- B. O. S. S. def. Durham Blue Devils - B.O.S.S. arrives in the East championship with a better than expected win over Arrowhead. B.O.S.S. balanced their attack out more against Arrowhead. B.O.S.S.'s defense continued its stranglehold on the offensive side by shutting down the run and passing games for a 46-0 win. Durham pounded their way into a win with a powered HB rush attack blended with QB passes to their FB to a 52-9 win over LEGIONs. We should expect for Durham to continue their offense attack of pounding the ball as it has been working quite well for them. Durham's defense is going to be the question mark in this game if they can contain B.O.S.S.'s rush or passing attack. Having a good dual threat should pose concern to Durham's DC. B.O.S.S.'s defense will have its hands full with Durham's offense and this likely will pose a big threat to B.O.S.S. This match will get down to whose offense overmatches the opponents defense and how often. This may be an obvious statement in any game but opportunities will be limited in this match and the team that makes the most of these opportunities should find their way into the Finals.
As always, this is for entertainment purposes only.
