GLB 2 is very simple and there are a few musts when building a dot that will help you. First off, anyone who needs speed should add Egotist as it makes speed a higher threshold and less costly as an example.

gameplanning V2 is very basic and great for someone learning GLB. Once they get a good feel for the game, they can graduate to 1 for the advanced version. smart move by Bort and Co to introduce a new, easier version to help new people learn the game. Draws in more users and the game needs that to survive.

I don'[t like the layout of the home page. I don't like the graphics at all. Fuck their AI. I like having control of my AI. Not a fan of the casual style game planning and shit .

I really hope it works out the way you say, KOB. I haven't made up my mind with GLB2 yet and have three players going. However, I'm not having much fun over there. The site seems clunky and there just isn't much for me to do other than click a few "+" signs every other day. Then again, I may just be more heavily invested over here so I'm not giving the new game a fair shake. I'm not making my mind up until I run my dots through a whole season over there, but I'm definitely more a fan of classic.

If 2 can funnel new people to this game, that would make me very happy, though. I don't think that will work if none of us old-time Classic players are over there talking up the "real" GLB game and how great it is (without running 2 down as shit, which would be counter-productive). For the strategy KOB mentions to work, we need to be over there and talk to newbs about how 2 is cool and all, but the real challenge is Classic and get their newb butts over here and give a little learning and support.

Edit: that assumes they advertise and get some newbs over to 2 in the first place. I think the current crowd here as already tried to refer the people they know to this game and they won't get much of a new player base through referrals.

Great point Nola, about 'talking up' 2. Newbs don't need the negativity right out of the gate or they'll move on and GLB will eventually pass away...sooner rather than later

If anyone wants some genuine input about V2 player building, feel free to PM and I'll be happy to share with you what I learned from the testing phase.

GLB2 wont generte the "froth" that this game did at first. since its so "casual" it will never have the fanatic fanbase that classic has created for itself.


i truly hope GLB2 will bring new users/revenue. i want GLB1 to be around for a while, and 2 bringing in money will help insure 1 stays around
