Not nearly as important (IMO) as where you are according to your build plan. When you switch over from single (mots likely, intense) training to multi-training, there's a few things you'd like to have by that time. #1 is enough BT's to not only purchase the other 3 slots (for a 4-way multi-training system), but to also enhance each skill to at LEAST 1 star, preferably 3 stars for each one. If not attainable, then you need 3 stars for your primary skill and at least 2 stars for your secondary, and move those up as fast as you can as BT's become available.
When you start a build, you should have a "plan" wherein you already know (roughly, at least) where and when you plan to switch over... when to boost... and which skill to attack 1st, and next, and next, and so on. If you're looking for a HIGH finishing number for your primary, you could stay on intense training all the 1st season. I usually am multi-training before my training % (for my primary) goes below 10%. I reckon that, after that, I'm wasting time and valuable lost training to my other skills by chasing a godly number (like 170 speed). Others might disagree and that's fine. That's the way this game is played. Figure out what YOU want and how to get there. That's why I say have a plan in advance so you know if you're doing what YOU want to accomplish or not.
Hope this helps.

"I usually am multi-training before my training % (for my primary) goes below 10%." That's what I was looking for.... I'm on the same page as you. I have my 3 attributes unlocked and enhanced up to 30% so I can multi train 4 attributes at once. Primary attribute is around 10%-13% .... just finished Rookie season and started training 4 attributes as of today. Am I doing it correctly? Thanks for the advice!!

What you're looking for, number's-wise, is the "break off point". This is where you will stop training a skill (of course you'll always train the 3 skills you paid BT's to buy training slots for) and switch out to another. Sometimes it's temporary. Like when you don't want to train past a cap... it's better to use SP's for that... but you need to still train while waiting for enough SP's to hit next cap. This kinda thing happens most during the middle levels (29-55). It's also where, if you're using your "open slot" for your primary skill (say you have a Speed WR. You'd have Catching, Agility, and Carrying in your 3 bought slots... and Speed [your main skill] in your open slot)... the point where you are no longer going to either train OR put SP's into it and let ALG's carry it to it's end number. (Usually somewhere around 90-100 natural) That's why, if you can, most people use the VPB "Virtual Player Builder" script (can be found in the script forum) to map out their builds and have a plan in advance, thereby knowing WHEN to and when NOT to put points into a skill. If you don't have that, you can do what us old timers do and build your own in Excell... but the VPB probably works better.
