I'm bored so I am going to post some stuff to see if there is any life at all out there.

Oceania Power Rankings

Championship Contenders

#1 - Walking Dead (3-0) - Call it a homer pick, but we have beaten WL teams in ranked scrims (both wins over teams that are 2-1 in WL) and taken care of business in league play so far. Until / unless we lose, I will have us as the top pick.

#2 - Dirty Island Gurupies (3-0) - Real good team that looks to have improved from last season by added some of their WL dots that were on the demoted New Orleans Gurupies team which made the WL semi finals. They are a major contender as they showed by handling the Brantford Smoke. They have not lost a game (scrim or otherwise) yet and look to be firing on all cylinders. I, for one, am glad two teams can promote from OPC, as beating this team will be a tough feat for any team.

#3 - Razorback Nation (3-0) - The Hogs are battle tested having played a ton of ranked scrims thus far. They have taken care of business in league play thus far but their first big test is coming up. We shall see if they are truly a contender after their game against WD.

#4 - Sumatra Seahawks (3-0) - These guys remind me of what OPL used to be. Sumatra and EEA used to own Zeta, taking turns winning Zeta and losing to Alpha in the gold trophy game Those were the days. I have nothing but respect for everyone involved with this team. They are off to a solid start, but their competition as not been the strongest, so you have to wonder how they will fare in the middle part of the schedule. I think these guys will do well enough to get a 3-5 seed but my gut tells me they are not going to be quite good enough to get back to WL for a seventh time.

#5 - Brantford Smoke (2-1) - Their only loss is to Dirty Island, so this team could well deserve a higher rank. However, they lost to DI by the same score last season, and also lost to Sumatra and Razorback, so I need to see them win against those guys before moving them up. Still, this team has to be considered a contender and should not be taken lightly come playoff time.

Playoffs or Bust

Seems like a pretty big drop off between the top 5 and this group of teams. Some of these teams will make the playoffs, but I don't think any of them are a real threat to win the two games it takes to get to WL.

#6 - Asau Kings (2-1) - A team full of HCreek dots is something to be wary of. However, this team is into decline, with a little bit of Chemistry issues, and should be competitive in alot of games, but by playoffs should be a non-factor. For now, I have them in the 6 spot, by virtue of their win over BPN. I imagine this will not persist the whole season.

#7 - Banzai Pipeline 'Nites (2-1) - Another old OPL team that brings back memories of the good ole days. It's kind of funny that I have to pick between them and Offtopica for the 7 seed, since yello and beenlurken used to have some pretty epic forum exchanges. I guess it is just further proof of the decline of GLB that it isnt even worth arguing over anymore. BPN has historically been a solid team, but at least in my time in OPL (Season 18 - 26) was never able to get over the hump to being a contender. So far, that looks to still be true.

#8 - Offtopica Miracle (2-1) - OPL wouldn't be OPL without Offtopica. First off, congrats yello on getting to WL. That is an accomplishment I doubted you would achieve, but you gathered the right people to you, which is what an owner is supposed to do. Unfortunately, it seems that after your successful Season 34 campaign, things have not gone as well. This season looks to be more of the same to me. Don't get me wrong....I feel pretty confident OTM will make the playoffs, but most of the big time talent you had is gone or otherwise focused, so I would be pretty surprised if you are able to make a run in the playoffs.

#9 - Gold Coast Michelin Men (1-2) - GCMM has one of the toughest opening schedules, and it does not let up much until Week 7. The upcoming game with Fiji is critical if they want to avoid being in a real hole this early in the season. Similar to Paris, GCMM could open the season 2-4 but still be in decent shape to make the playoffs. They need to be sure to beat the teams in the 6 - 10 range tho.

#10 - Paris Smexies (1-2) - They opened with two of the best teams in the league and lost both games. However, they beat Fiji, which is a step in the right direction if they want to be a solid playoff team. The schedule remains tough for them, and they could easily end up 1-4 after 5 games. Even if that happens, they will not be out of the mix, as the main focus for them is how they do against the mid-tier teams with whom they are competing for a playoff berth.

#11 - Asau Assassins (2-1) - Their first two in-conference foes are bottom of the league teams, and they lost to a mid-tier SE Asia opponent. They have some work to do if they want to show they are a true playoff contender. Beating their neighbor, the Kings would certainly go a long way toward that.

#12 - Fiji Ventures (2-1) - It's hard to know what to make of this team. They have the second highest EL as a team, which would make you think they are a contender. However, they lost pretty handily to a Paris team that thus far looks middle of the road. That does not bode well for Fiji.

Playoffs, don't talk about playoffs. Are you kidding me? Playoffs?

#13 - Offtopica Grace (0-3) - Yello has some work to do if he wants this team to stay in Nat Pro. Still alot of dotball to be played tho, so they are not out of the picture yet.

#14 - Gridiron Avatars ~ Luminescent (0-3) - They aren't getting blown out by the good teams, which could mean they are better than they appear. However, they will need to find a way to score more than 7 points if they hope to have a shot at the playoffs.

#15 - Guam Chamoros Rising Sun Devils (0-3) - Hard to imagine a scenario there this team wins very many games, but who knows.

#16 - Mothball Mobsters (0-3) - Every league needs a bye week team. This is it for OPC.

Southeast Asia Power Rankings

I'll readily admit, I don't know alot about most of these teams. Thus, these rankings are probably going to be off. I also am a homer for teams I do know or that my team has played, so expect some bias there. If you don't like my rankings, please reply with your take on how it should be.

Championship Contenders

#1 - Night's Watch (2-1) - They have played a tough opening schedule and are only 2 points from being 3-0. NW is a tough team that I think will do well in the regular season. Their performance in the playoffs will depend upon who they matchup against and if the other team can stop NW's O.

#2 - Justice League (2-1) - I love the team name. I love the fact they came in talking shit in the preseason. They played NW close and could definitely beat them in the playoffs. These guys look like they are contenders.

#3 - Saigon Whores (2-1) - Which is better, bhall and duro or bhall and a bunch of other guys? Saigon and Omaha seems pretty evenly matched to me, but bhall is always slow to boost his Omaha dots, so I will give the nod to Saigon at #3.

#4 - Omaha BEEF (2-1) - When bhall boosts and starts caring, this team could be very dangerous. However, I said the same thing last season, and he got trounced by Night's Watch in the playoffs. Thus, I am wary of buying into the imminent greatness of this team until I see it in action. Regardless, even not fully boosted, they beat Palembang and played Razorback close, so they have to be considered a solid playoff team with a shot to be a contender.

Playoffs of Bust

#5 - Palembang Royally Drunken Monks (2-1) - The resume is very incomplete, but thus far these guys are looking a lot less formidable than I thought they would be when I looked at the league in the offseason. The EL is impressive, but barely beating Gridiron and getting beat by a not-fully boosted Omaha team leaves me thinking they wont be able to handle the top 4 come playoff time.

#6 - Dryden Gold (2-1) - With a close loss to Sumatra and a win over CCR, these guys look like a mid tier playoff team to me.

#7 - Legacy's Danbury Demons (3-0) - I'm sure they will not be happy being this low as the only undefeated team in their conference, but they have not played anyone that is truly a contender, and they really did not beat the two average-ish looking teams they did face. They need a signature win before I will buy into their undefeated record.

#8 - La Flama Blanca (2-1) - This is another team that has not beaten anyone good. However, they played BPN close, and BPN looks like a mid-tier team, so I will give La Flama the nod at #8.

#9 - Cult of Charleston Rowdies (2-1) - The good news for CCR is that they made it to Nat Pro and so far, have a winning record. The bad news for them is that they need to take care of business if they want to make the playoffs and show that they truly belong here. I'm sure Rowdie is tired of me ranking his team at #9, but that is where they appear to fit at the moment. There is still alot of dotball to be played tho.

#10 - The Cult of Personalities, Wu! (1-2) - There certainly are alot of Wult teams in PPL. CCR squeaked by CoP and thus CoP is the 10 seed here.

#11 - Pottsville Maroons (0-3) - They showed a little bit of life in the game against Danbury. However, I am not sure if that is a sign that Pottsville has a shot at the playoffs, or if it is indicative of the weakness of Danbury. Guess we need to keep watching to find out.

#12 - PeeWee "WL" Dream Team (0-3) - Losing by 46 to the team I have ranked at #10 does not give me much faith that these guys have a shot. They might surprise me tho.

Playoffs, don't talk about playoffs. Are you kidding me? Playoffs?
These teams really don't look like they have the dots or gameplans to make much noise. The good news for them is that they get to play each other tho. They are all pretty bad tho, so I don't think I'll bother saying much about them.

#13 - Sunred Smashers (1-2)
#14 - Scotch Snobs (1-2)
#15 - OT ABBY's SERAPHIM (0-3)
#16 - Buffalo Billz (0-3)

Nice write up Plankton, don't forget Nation has been in OPL many seasons and even won a game or 2 against Sumatra and EEA. Looking forward to our game. Should be a good one.

Yeah, I definitely remember you guys. I think you demoted around the time Devonport hit OPL tho, so we weren't in OPL at the same time or if we were, it was only a season or so. Thus, my memories of OPL are more EEA and Sumatra from Zeta. Plus, I had to get a dig in on Zeta for old times' sake.

You know i didn't boost beef in the playoffs last season even right? I waited until day 48.

That being said Night's Watch is definitely a team that I take way too lightly on a regular basis...with BEEF I just thought it was because our LB's might be too slow to cover those HB's but apparently I just am doing a lot of wrong things defensively against them. At some point I will watch a game to figure that out.

Saigon will be solid when I sit down and actually look at whats going on. Right now I am not too worried about their standing as long as BEEF isn't on the same side of the bracket.

I do. But you said all season to wait until you boost for the playoffs, then you didn't. Who is to say you don't do the same this season. I have no clue what makes you tick, so I'm just going on the past.

I miss these write ups. Want to do some for USA Pro

Good Luck this season. Later, when I need to test some shit out I'll get Oak to send a scrimmage to you guys from the Suppressors. Were about due for a good ass whipping.

Good Luck this season.

Nah. I barely have the time to do one for my own league. I meant to do a preseason one, and one for each week up until now, but I would start and then get pulled away or lose interest, and never get past the top 3 or 4 teams.

We are on the list and love scrims, so feel free to scrim us whenever you want. We only do ranked scrims for tournaments, as we want to ensure that any ranked scrim we play, we actually cared about, but we will do private scrims all day. The more the merrier.
