always is a pretty strong word.
you are obviously young because you have no idea how strong the swc and big 8 were and how much suck the sec was outside of bama. florida football has only been relevant since the 80s. stick your has been and always and troll elsewhere and unite on that.

Totally agree with the Florida football comment about getting rolling about 1980, however, the SEC has had a lot more than Bama.
Traditionally, Tennessee, Mississippi, LSU, Auburn, and Georgia all have strong traditions that go way back. Pre-1980 coaches with national titles include:
[HOF] General Neyland ( 4 Natl Titles), [HOF] John Vaught (3 Natl titles), [HOF] Shug Jordan (1 Natl Title), Paul Dietzel (1 Natl Title)
There have been other great coaches like Pop Warner, Vince Dooley, Charlie McClendon, etc. SEC has a very proud tradition, it's just that Bama has the richest tradition

I don't know what's sadder: The team paying kids under the table, or that the kids getting paid aren't even smart enough to keep quiet about it.

I guess you are right...I'm not a BIG historical person, I usually don't pay a whole lot of attention to much that was well before my time...and since I am 39, I really don't have much to focus on prior to the late 70's...so yeah, I was wrong...but in our lifetime, Florida Football has been superior to Texas football...and by Florida, I mean the state, not the Gators. (I am an FSU fan, btw, but as a state, we have far superior football teams during our lifetime).

I'm not a fan of A&M, I'm a Sooner, but this is incredibly sad if true. Prayers go out to Polo's family.

It is true. This is the 2nd fatal accident in 2 years for the team. Joey Villavisencio died in a car accident in December of 2011.

He always seemed like a great kid when OU was recruiting him.

I hate Texas as much as the next guy, but I will go to bat for them here. I guess I don't know what kind of data you are composing to come up with such a bold claim, but I feel pretty confident in saying that the top HS players from both the states of California and Florida combined may be able to compete with the entire state of Texas HS football. Texas HS football is pretty top notch.

California actually produces the most NFL players. Texas and Florida are pretty neck and neck.

i think the whole prep community has changed. tbh, i don't know if prep football in the state of texas has been doing 7v7 more than 10 years. if it's greater than 10, it's not too much longer than that.

i don't know state populations but some of that has to be figured into it. and if so, the state of Louisiana would crush all per capita.

you may have to look at scholarships given as well.

I guess I assumed off this very vague statement. Yes, FSU has accomplished more in the 90's then the Longhorns have in the last 50 years. I guess rereading it, he was speaking of all college teams in the state. Florida schools did an excellent job of locking up their state HS recruits then Texas has. In the past 15 years, Oklahoma could arguably say they have done better recruiting then both A&M and the Longhorns combined have in the state of Texas.

Maybe, but Texas has been cutting edge technology and facility wise for awhile now. Everyone is playing catchup.
