Is Fake Chance 5% a useful Equipment bonus on its own or does it require Catch Fake first to have an effect? I'm having bad luck with my EQ rolls for this guy but the Fake Chance 5% just came up...

I would take it. Fakes are the only way wr's seem to get open, so anything to help it is good.

5% Fake Chance is good. You do need points Catch Fake, Juke and Head Fake for it to be useful, but you can worry about those down the line.
