we get a lot of success from "middle"
in fact its a huge part of our game plans.
we GP for the QB designed runs, and for what you call "middle"
the actual runs from the pocket are too unpredictable for us to really GP it.
wish she had got to the next read, the HB
http://www.wiki.goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=2275973&pbp_id=2513157still it works out. our pQB probably doesnt make it to either of the RB reads there-
our line is built to run block, so its hard to give the stationary QB enough time to get through the progression.
if anything, Tif da Cat over scrambles, even occasionally into a sack.
still, she buys a lot of time and it can turn into real nice plays for us:
http://www.wiki.goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=2261332&pbp_id=1762763there's a more 'classic' roll out
http://www.wiki.goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=2261335&pbp_id=1371752here, she rolls out to avoid the pressure and finds her man
http://www.wiki.goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=2276103&pbp_id=2127426our pQB takes a sack there for sure.
http://www.wiki.goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=2288913&pbp_id=1948550luckily she glanced back to the TE right before she tucked it. she never stops moving...
http://www.wiki.goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=2261322&pbp_id=957679again, she never stops moving
http://www.wiki.goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=2261325&pbp_id=520361no wher to go, but buys some time
http://www.wiki.goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=2261325&pbp_id=521589runs herself in and out of a sack... the way we sometimes have to claw and scratch to get
any pass yardage at all, it really helps to get something, even if we're not getting 99 yard plays all the time...
now here's where it hurts, cost us a sure TD on this play:
http://www.wiki.goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=2275973&pbp_id=2511972darn, keep your eyes upfield! she did that like 3 times that game. but eventually made the big one.
i would say, to look for how much the rQB yr using moves around in the pocket, compared to the pQB
sometimes a little scramble can pay more dividends then taking off from the pocket.
-think John Elway and "the Drive"
