That depends on if you have pets and/or kids. If pets/kids then it goes under. If not then it can go over without trouble... except for those that are OCD about it.

even without bacon, grilled is the only way I eat asparagus. a bit of oil salt and pepper, lightly grilled. effing delicious.

we put in an asparagus patch this year. looking forward to picking our own fresh....in like 6 years.

It won't take that long, I've transplanted roots of wild asparagus and had edible spears the following year and a bumper crop the next year. It grows wild all over the place.

It was nuts this year, stuff grew 8" a day, had to pick it every day.

There are all these tips people have for cutting but honestly, I just go out with a grocery bag and snap it off with my hand and the stuff keeps producing.

morels are pretty uncommon in maine apparently.
