I've heard that too much vision can lead to the back never finding a hole because he can't figure out which hole to run at, so I was wondering what a good goal was to shoot for with vision.

The reason most people dont is because it takes away from other areas of the build and being a very SA heavy build there is not much SP to spare. That is the main reason people will advocate not taking it up too high, not running good is def not the reason. In fact the higher VIS HBs iv seen do VERY well.

i think i recall i while back that someone made a high vis. back (like really high) that did have problems picking a hole, but that probably isn't an issue anymore

Vision isn't as important as people think for HBs and I've argued this with a lot of people. The fact remains that you can post up all sorts of replays with HBs with high Vision making great plays, but you can find plays with HBs with low Vision doing the same.

I think the "vision is bad" misconception was mainly based on powerbacks, pre-slider. I remember that beingv the common thought back then, at least.
That said, I see a lot of dots who take it up at the expense of SA's or more useful atts.
