4 way tie for the 8th and final spot in Africa.

Here are the rules for the tie-breaker involving more than 2 teams.

Playoff Seeding Tiebreakers

When two or more teams have the same regular season record, seeding comes down to the following tiebreakers.

To determine the winner of a tie within a Conference the following Tiebreakers go into effect:

If there are only 2 teams tied (same record), higher seed is the winner of the head-to-head match up.
If there are more than 2 teams tied (same record), then it's based upon these factor in this order:
Number of head-to-head wins against the other tied teams with the same record.
Number of total points allowed.
Number of total points scored.

Here are the records of the 4 teams against the other 3.

Black STEEL 2-1
Ivory Coast Breakers 2-1
Sahara Sand Whales 1-2
Mayan Warriors 1-2

So, this eliminates Sahara and Mayan. Shouldn't it now refer to head-to-head since it is now a 2 team tie?

no according to the algorithm at hand if im understanding it right now it goes to the number of points allowed between the 2 teams left outta the 4 team mix

The goal of a multi-team tie-breaker is to get it down to 1 or 2 teams remaining. When only 2 teams remain it should always refer back to head-to-head.

I get what it says, but maybe it is time to review that and change it.

Anytime something gets pared down to two teams, it almost always goes to head-to-head matchup, and I would bet it is that way in almost every competition.

Wish we could keep all of the conference tbh, even the "bad" teams have been competitive. I think Pro will actually be weaker next year if they really demote 16 from each league. There just aren't 64 teams of the same standard in RP. Keeping 9th/10th seems like a no-brainer to me, but oh well

I dont know about that as we just came up with Mayan ,Somalia, New Orleans and even all the other teams that came up with us through elite leagues are mostly playoff teams. I think not being able to to just field a team and stay in pro's will make guys try a bit harder to stay up. You also have a bit more competition coming up if you stay elite to win consistently. If you get a few teams to replace the weaker teams each season it should stay competitive.

but you have to remember that you also have 16 teams dropping down from WL so they'll only be bringing up the top 48...

I think that's incorrect. The teams that make the conference finals go to WL so that makes it 80 teams from pro moving up or down. 64 going down 16 moving up, so 64 from regional pro come up & 16 from WL come down.

that's a 62% turnover rate for Pro & doesn't include guts or teams that restart. Seems a little excessive to me.

Long-term Regional Pro should get better with actual demoting talent mixing in with the upcoming gems. All and all will make the turnover less of a negative for Pro once we get through a system a few times.
