After 5 weeks the top 4 spots are occupied by new blood. Is this a changing of the guard for the African nation? One thing is certain. Teams that used to feed on subpar teams will have a tough time staying in the Pros from here on out.

Africa
Somalia Pirates (5-0) - Just keep getting it done every week and have outscored solid opponents by 152 points so far. Great D is leading the way and will be an interesting matchup against RMT next week.

Cult (5-0) - Another new entrant to Africa making statements week in and out. Dominated their opponents every week but came very close to suffering their first loss last week against Benin.

Mayan Warriors (5-0) - To be honest, I only moved Mayan up based off their record. I think they've had the easiest schedule of the 5-0 teams. Does that mean they're not good? No it doesn't. Just not sure they're great yet. Definitely an upper tier team though.

Rocky Mountain (4-1) - Great D the last 3 weeks. They've only given up 2 TDs in that period and held their opponents to 9 FGs.

Republic (3-2) - Played Somalia well for a half but the lack of a run game and some key fumbles hurt them in the second half. Against BSS they managed to mount a 4th Q comeback after being down 17-25 by putting up the games final 16 points. And last week they were in a battle with Cult and fell short by 3 points even after shutting down the Cult in the 2nd half.

ICB (3-2) - After jumping out to a 3-0 start the Breakers have dropped 2 in a row now. First they fell to RMT, a game in which ICB was kept out of the endzone until the games final minute. Then they fell in OT to RRK after going 3 and out on their first drive.

TAP (3-2) - Been an up and down season so far and they were dominated by Somalia and Cult. WIll their WLWLW pattern continue next week against Mayan?

Black STEEL Surge (3-2) - After 2 easy wins to start the season, BSS has been in some close ones the last 3 games. They lost to TAP by 10 in a game that was very close all the way down to the 2 minute warning. They lost an 8 point lead against Benin when they failed to stop them from putting up 16 in the 4th Q. BSS finally got back in the win column last week against Sahara though. Looked bleak at first as Sahara put up the games first 13 points but BSS went on to hit 5 FGs from there on out – including the game winner with 12 secs left – and keep Sahara off the scoreboard the rest of the game.

Spring Hill (2-3) - Their 3 losses have come against teams with a combined 14-1 record so they get a little pass there. The 2 wins were very close, both 3 point wins, so this team could just as easily be 0-5 right now.

Windhoek (3-2) - Hard to believe so many of these great teams are 3-2 but that's where we are. 3 weeks ago the Rhinos tried to mount a valiant comeback against SHP only to fall 3 points short as SHP managed to bleed the last 4 minutes off the clock to secure the win. Rhinos manhandled Philly after that but followed it up with an 18 point loss to TAP as they only managed 1 TD in the second half.

Rwanda (2-3) - Nice OT win over ICB but they need to keep it going the next few weeks. Backend of their schedule has them facing 3 of the current top 4 ranked teams.

Sahara (1-4) - Whales are struggling and have only 1 win this season after losing another one last week to BSS. Rough loss that saw BSS hit the game winning FG with 12 seconds left in regulation.

Philly (1-4) - Franklins are struggling and just not competitive right now.

LEGIONs VBA (1-4) - Been a rough season for VBA so far and the next 4 weeks have them facing some tough teams.

AquaBats (1-4) - I spent most of last season questioning SDs record due to the light schedule. Well, there's no such thing as a light schedule now that every team in here is good. That's being reflected through SDs games and they are struggling to get in the endzone right now with only 5 TDs on the season compared to 11 FGs.

Uganda (0-5) - Tough loss last week and the Silverbacks need to find a way to get their offense in a groove. The passing attack ranks dead last in terms of yardage but up next they face another struggling squad.

Week 6 Picks
Sahara vs Cult
Too much struggling in Sahara right now to think they can topple Cult.

Philly vs Uganda
2 struggling teams desperate for a win.

RMT vs Somalia
Moved Somalia to the top for a reason. Should be a great game though.

Benin vs WWR
Benin just seems to be playing slightly better this season.

ICB vs SD
Not sure if SD will get much done this season with the strong influx of talented teams in the conference now.

TAP vs Mayan
TAP needs to break out of their back and forth W/L pattern. Looking forward to seeing how Mayan performs here though.

SHP vs RRK
Tough one to call but going with the Pirates.

VBA vs BSS
Legion needs the win here but don't think they'll get it.
