I'm not sure I'm going to be around this game much longer. There are too many broken elements in this game and it's been made clear that the dev and admins have abandoned this game to work on the new game.

Why the hell would anyone bother with the new game after playing this one? They left so much undone leaving this game as nothing more than a game that never met it's potential. Fool me once...

I hear what you are saying and agree with a lot but I do still enjoy playing around building dots and playing the games. The sim sure has swung wildly over the seasons and sometimes you get a step behind or guess wrong on which way the dev push us.

Bottom line is that it's even for everyone and we all suffer the same fate each season, although I agree with everything that has been said, about all the stupid hurries, bad throws, QB reads just garbage. Still it is a challenge to find those ways around it.

I love football and the football sim. I am an old guy so not many MMORG really appeal to me, this one does only because of the football aspect. Building dots and leveling up hooked me from the get go.
Where I took a hit on enjoyment was when the SSB's screwed it up and they revamped the leagues so that you didn't have to earn your way up.....I really preferred the old AAA and Pro leagues where there were a lot of rivalries, the forums were reasonably busy with smack and such

Staying all no no and beating everyone else to get to the conference game against a booster who was ranting about how easy he would wipe us off the turf...well we beat them with our no-no way back then.....and what made it even more fun was that another no-no team from the other conference named Sprinfield Atoms also won. Now we had 2 no-no teams that played a very close Championship game. I think the other team owner that won was a dude named Dub J

Yeah, getting rid of the pyramid really killed off a chunk of the userbase. So did killing non-boosters.

The primary thing that has hurt this game is Bort listening to the elite 1% regarding EVERYTHING. Guess who bitched and got non-boosters killed off? A WL team that demoted down to the capped leagues and blamed non-boosters for robbing them of the multitude of championships that they just knew they would have won.

What's pathetic is they demoted down to cap 38. That's where my old Jazz Cats team shook off the 1 non-boost team we ever encountered on our climb up the leagues from cap 14. That same team that bitched didn't win a gold until they got to Pro and that's after switching from SA Pro to Africa because Africa was the weakest Pro league at the time.

The real salt in the wound is the people associated with that team have all left. Not only that, but they had stated repeatedly before all the bitching about "all" these non-boost teams that they didn't give two shits about anything but Pro league.

Non-boost teams were almost non-existent. I would dare estimate 95% or greater of the non-boost dots helped capped teams fill their rosters. Very few teams had completely boosting rosters. Most of us had 2 or 3 non-boost linemen on the roster. So effectively that move killed recruiting for capped league teams. The age based bullshit has done nothing but make recruiting confusing as hell. The elite/competitive/non-competitive shit has done nothing but make it extremely difficult (damn near impossible) for some very good teams to ever win a silver or gold. Meanwhile, mediocre teams can play in shit leagues and pile up gold trophies.

Don't even get me started on how the admins have completely ignored so many of us regarding giving the minor leagues back their identity. It typically goes like this...myself and a number of other people with teams in the minors beg the admins to link minors back with regions. Then a Pro/WL elitist that doesn't give a damn about anything but WL comes into the thread saying it's not necessary and/or stupid. If they don't have any interest/affiliation with the minors their opinion doesn't mean shit imo.

The bottom line is Bort has spent almost 5 years listening to a extremely small sampling of his userbase and completely fucking up this game for the vast majority in the process.

P.S. SSBers should have been killed off much sooner than they were. Outside of that, everything should have been left alone. The more restrictions they put on recruiting the more it's hurt recruiting. Given the small userbase left here they should open recruiting back up, only have one or two league types (3 is way too many for this tiny userbase), and contract the forums/relax the forum rules.

And I remember that game, bro. I owned every dot on the Atoms but I still knew that was going to be one hell of a game.

Thats why I play RLU whether the dots are lopsided or not we're all the same and the teams actually try every season

it pmuch what keeps me around, that and the occasional forray into peewee as a no-no, the last bunch of free dots are perfect to get together for peewee as a few boosters for free, rinse , recycle

I'm not trying to be an alarmist or incite fear among the userbase, but I think this could very well be the last season of GLB. I am seeing disgust and anger by the userbase I've never seen before. People are basically at the point where the admins better get their ass in gear and jumpstart this game or people are preparing to leave. The admins haven't responded because it's obvious they are too busy with the new game.

I almost hope this is the last season since I hate seeing this game I love so much in this condition. It's kinda like putting your pet out of it's misery after it gets old and is suffering.

Replace the GLB in your rant with the name of every mmo or mmorg that has ever been created. It's almost a word for word cut and paste post I see over and over and over.
