A long time back I made this thread http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=4510535 and I thought it might be interesting to revisit it now that the league is coming to a close.
My top 10:
1.) Carthage Clash-2 APL Golds, 1 WL Gold, and grabbed an OPL and SEAPL gold just for fun. hays will always call APL home despite his running around cheating on us with other leagues.
2.) Immortals-I'm bunching Canton and South Bend here because there's little reason not to. Combined APL record is sick good, with two 20-0 golds in there including the most dominating season in APL history. Always a top WL team, though never getting it to the end in the playoffs.
3.) Nairobi Warthogs-1 APL gold, 2 APL silvers, WL silver. Other than last season, WL success has been very limited, but nonetheless a staple of the top of the game for the last 20 seasons.
4.) Lake Opeta Legionnaires-I'm not going to count ESL's recent stretch, but this APL team was the best in their day and spawned the best HB to ever play the game. 3 APL Golds, 3 APL silvers
5.) Windhoek White Rhinos-WWR has been here forever. 3 golds and 2 more silvers. Nothing since joining GD though, or else they could have passed LOL by now.
6.) D9 Prawns-DS just owning the APL top 10, but with good reason. 2 APL golds, and now a CPL gold on top. A respectable, though not spectacular couple runs in the WL.
7.) Doinitin Djibouti-2 APL Golds and a pretty solid short run in the WL. MoD won a silver which was half DD.
8.) Guyana Punch-Maybe a little high for a team that took only one run through APL ending with a 20-0 gold, but this team helped bring respectability to APL beyond the Immortals and DS teams.
9.) Dakar Dragons-yah, we spent one season in APL, and got a silver. But APL was a joke before Dakar in the WL. First APL team to make the playoffs in the WL. Earned two home playoff games. And also the first APL team to win a playoff game.
10.) Port Harcourt Playmakers-PHP has a gold and a silver in APL. Also had a very nice season in WL making the playoffs. They get my last slot.
Honorable Mention:
Cobra Kai-Yah, they're really a SLAP team, but I have to say these guys really grew on me when they were here and in the WL. And they were pretty damn good too.
GRiTs/Black Hand/Fake HOOD Chow/Hood's Most Wanted-rj couldn't pick a name, but the team actually was the same one all along. 1 gold and 2 silvers and quite a few years being a very solid team.
Angola Blood Diamonds-They got that one playoff win to remember.
