Its mid season and it looks a lot like I predicted in the preseason. Time is running out on some of these younger teams to get their team rolling or they will be back in reg. pro next season.
1 Komodo Dragon 8-0-0 8 They started on top of my rankings and will remain there. They are yet another DS team who seam to be a good portion of the WL teams. They are certainly the favored team to be representing OPL zeta in WL next season. They have played two of the top 6 teams and neither of them were able to hang with them.
2 Chico High Panthers 8-0-0 8 Only one team has hung within 30 points of this team so far and the next 6 games will show us if this team belongs in the #2 spot.
3 Sumatra Seahawks 7-1-0 1 My guess is this team has been on cruise control with a pass heavy AI just sitting back waiting for "the real season." They will probably finish below 3rd place based on the fact they are just cruising along but don't be fooled, come playoffs they will show they belong in the top 3.
4 Black Hand Goal Line Mafia 8-0-0 8 8-0 is a fluke. Don't pay any attention to this team.
5 Gold Coast Vipers 6-2-0 1 Lost to Komodo and then took a mini helmet loss to BHGLM. They are definitely a top 5 team and maybe higher. They always play tough come playoffs.
6 Ch,ristchurch Fighting Maori 5-3-0 2 Yes they have three losses but two of them they lost by 1 and have arguably had the toughest schedule of the top teams. Come playoffs I don't see this all run based team going far.
7 Black Sea Serpents 5-3-0 -1 They have also had a tougher schedule then most of the top teams so could rise up this list but I would not forsee them getting any home games in playoffs.
I really think the only playoff spot up for grabs is the 8th seed, everyone above here should easily make playoffs.
8 Smurfin' Birds 4-4-0 -1 Huge game this week vs RN. If they can pull out a win here they are sitting in position to be the favorite to lock up the 8th seed for playoffs.
9 Razorback Nation 5-3-0 2 jlrock always seams to put up a fight and he has done that yet again. Sitting at 5-3 he looks like the favorite to snag the 8th seed but they have a tough schedule yet to come. Unless he pulls out a upset I see them finishing 8-8 and that is assuming they do not lose the big match up against smurfin birds this week. This team made out well with the schedule being able to play the 10th and 11th ranked teams before they hit plateau. It is hard to say if they played now if they would be ranked here or not.
10 Windy City Grizzlies 2-6-0 -1 Such a heart braking loss to GCV they put up a hell of a fight. They had a brutal schedule starting out and had some unfortunate match ups early on to where I feel if they played them now they might have a different outcome. none the less they are in trouble. They are at plateau now and can only afford to lose one more game with a huge game this week. If they can withstand this next game they might have a shot but if they lose they would be forced to win out to make it.
11 Lone Wolves Team Assault 2-6-0 1 They had their work cut out for them entering pro under leveled and now they hit plateau but is it to late for them to make a run? They can only afford to lose one more game if they have any hopes for a playoff appearance. It will be interesting to see how they step up to this challenge. I am afraid they are in to big of a hole to overcome.
12 "The Combine's" Huntington Beach Surf 2-6-0 -2 yet another young team that has unfortunate timing to make pro. They should be a legit contender next season in reg pro though and might be back in pro S32?
13 OffTopica Grace 1-7-0 -3 Maybe reg pro will be a better fit?
14 Birmingham Steeldogs 1-7-0 -3 If placed in the right reg pro league they will should be able to be around teams more to their level
15 Southern Cross Veritechs CPU 0-8-0 -8 I sure hope no more CPU in pro with new structure
16 Gold Coast Silver Foxes CPU 0-8-0 -8 I sure hope no more CPU in pro with new structure
