Edit:

The important thing is it gets implemented.

+1 TT

And pretty sure this just jogged the memory banks from your suggestion - Bort clearly supported it back then.

Lets have everything set to auto and do everything for us so we don't even have to show up.....

Oh, so that's what happened to all those people that used to play this game...

I would rather see a button that would auto your EQ for you so you don't have to go through 4 of the same thing like anyone has there EQ split up and would need to think about which attribute to switch to for the next EQ level up...

The most important thing is for those Quick Scrims, because not everyone has gone through and pretagged every player in GLB just in case a team sends them a scrim and they aren't able to log in every hour to check.

The auto set would just be a basic blocker / rusher / receiver / power setting based on the archetype of the player. This would not be as detailed as if you scouted the team, so there is still a lot of benefit from putting in the work. It would be useful for quick scrimmages though where the scrimmage happens before you even know it was scheduled.

So is this optional? If so I will change my vote to yes.

I never tag archtypes, I tag how players are used. If I get instant scrimmed it's not like it cost me anything anyways.

Yes, as a checkbox it can be turned on or off making it optional.

Any good DC knows that the archetype of a dot is merely an indicator of how they might be used, but hardly definitive. An Elusive HB can be built specifically for breaking tackles or for catching passes, meanwhile some blocking TEs only block while some have enough investment in catching to be competent receivers, etc. So unless you're extremely lazy or just don't care, you'll have to go to the scout page and confirm that the right tags are in place anyway. That saves ... what? Ten or fifteen seconds? The problem is that inexperienced DCs might not know this and get in the bad habit of relying on auto-tags, meaning they get burned by one elusive being different from another. As geekor posted, this just promotes laziness and inaccuracy. It seems like a good idea in theory, but it won't be in practice. It takes maybe thirty seconds to tag an opponent, so let's not employ shortcuts that will produce adverse results.

Quick-scrims.

Are you going to log in every two hours to tag?

Besides, if you already tagged, the auto-tag should not overwrite the tag you assigned.

The way I envisioned the auto-tag function, you don't have to auto-tag for every position... if a dot is a blocking TE and is used 95% of the time as a blocking TE, missing the tag as being a blocker is probably going to hurt you. On the otherhand, overly relying on tags can burn you too. I've got a couple of plays where my rushing QB throws the ball to a blocking TE.

and lose every important game as a result due to a receiver archtype just being worthless as a receiver being built blocker and blocker both
