I have a couple lvl 12 dots that will level up overnight (950XP) and would like to boost them to lvl 16 before next season.

If I boost x3 (to lvl 15) now I'm afraid they wont get the same xp they would at lvl 12 and thus I will lose out on finishing at 16 before season 29 begins.

What is the last day to boost?

Last day to boost is day 48 or whatever the last day of the season happens to be this time.

at level 16 game XP changes, but daily does not. you will be good to go. but like said above you can boost till day 48 to get your last boosts before season rollover.
