am I crazy or was there supposed to be a way to have instant scrimmages? I can't figure out how/where to set one up

Go to your team page. Look just above the scrimmage game schedule. It should say find opponent . Click that and choose an opponent to scrimmage.
After you click that link, you may have to choose the my options to open yourself up for it. Not sure about that part though. You may still be able to schedule some without making yourself available to others.
