Anybody know offhand?

I believe jumping is probably the best (if you want to call it that) skill for improving your chances to block a kick but just curious if this had ever been asked/answered.

March 23, 2012 Question What goes into the FG/XP block skills?
Answer The block kick roll is INCREDIBLY hard to pass, even if you're in the right position. However, it is essentially the same roll as pass deflection, without any VA's and SA's other than swat ball.

so if you read this you would assume that no, only swat ball would help.

Hmm

I'm reading that to mean no VAs or SAs except swat ball...but def ball % wouldnt be either. And he says its essentially the same roll as a pass deflection.

Thanks for finding that one Robb

oh yeah good point. I guess next Q&A you can ask and he will be incredibly vague with his answer...

but yeah I think than it should probably work

I would "think" that a very high JUMP skill would have a much bigger impact towards blocking kicks/punts than VA's or SA's would. Yeah?

That makes it sound that it would, but it's hard to tell.

This is probably the only way to know for sure.

You don't seem to understand how % bonuses work in this game.

the only kick I can remember a team of mine having blocked was done by a dot with 12 JMP.
RNG. Forget about it.

from what I've seen the key to blocking kicks is to line up the fastest dot you have at NT and hope he blurs past the blockers

it's funny how that is a blocked kick yet sometimes the defenders are standing on the place holder when the ball is kicked and it's not a block

I think having the fast guys all go up the middle helps but its just a luck roll.

Since the placeholder can not be tackled, if a defensive player gets right on top of the PH, then he will just phase through or bounce off to the side slightly.
So, most of the time, a fast player that gets there before the ball is kicked, is taken out of the play, by the coding.
A semi-fast player, that gets just in front of the PH when the kick happens, has a lot greater chance to block the kick than a fast/super fast player that gets to the PH before the kick.
