Had this question. It is my first season owning a team and I it looks like I misbugeted. Not sure what to do. My team is undefeated and will probably make a decent run in the playoffs. I haven't taken out a loan yet, and don't I should based on where my team's finances are. Anyone with some advice? Thanks.

Your players get negative salaries.

This causes these problems.

1) IIRC you no longer get morale benefits for the players salary. So if you were paying your QB to have a +3 morale bonus, you still pay him that much (go that much in debt) but he does not get the +3.

2) Your players can release themselves from the team at any time. The minor plus is that this does not cost you chemistry at all.

3) Your players begin to think the team is in trouble and may not renew contracts. Takes some talking to them to calm down. It also might make recruiting hard if your balance is negative.

4) You can not pay for game day promotions if you do not have the cash, so they will not happen.

5) The negative balance will remain on team books till you get ticket sales next season. Negative salary to players is not paid until you begin to pay salaries the next season, which on the one hand makes paying those players costly the next season. But the money owed to players that left the roster is not paid so you "get away" without that expense.

#5 won't happen as they should get playoff ticket sales

have you pre-paid for any stadium sections for next season? you can un-do that

Also, IIRC if you are in the negative for too long, your team can be taken away (without notice?)

You can send out new contracts with lower salaries and there is no way your kicker and punter should make that much.

I have gone negative several times and that hasn't happened. I think you would have to royally screw up for that to happen.

Simple solution....take out loan now....with a lock on #1 seed for playoffs you will get at least 2 home games for not only real good ticket sales but also concession sales.....plenty of time to repay loan and have plenty of cash to finish off season salaries.....then take another loan (wait for last min) and put all cash you have into stadium sections for next season.....ps do not forget to jack up ticket prices b-4 playoffs start......at least 20% for 1'st roll over then back off for sections not sold out for 2'nd roll over

If you stay negative for too long I'm pretty sure this can happen.

Tried looking on the Wiki for more information but wasn't finding what I was looking for, so I could be wrong I guess.

You have to be in the negative for 10 consecutive days (this does not include the off-season). If you are concerned about your team's finances, you could message support.
