does the sim make any distinction between a stat with 105 natural + 45 in EQ vs 95 natural + 55 in eq? i thought it used to be that 100 was the limit, but i see lots of players now going quite a bit over 100 and wondering what i missed this time.

No, the total value is all that matters.

why did we spike the ball ? (it is in my AI, not a bug issue)

Game in question : http://goallineblitz.com/game/game.pl?game_id=1965513

Team A:
1:54 1st & 10 OWN 17.5 Colt McCoy pass to Dolorous Edd Tollett over the middle, caught (18.5 yd gain) [diving tackle: D Flection] Replay
1:40 1st & 10 OWN 36 Colt McCoy sacked by Blotto Otto (5 yd loss) Replay
1:22 2nd & 15 OWN 31 Colt McCoy pass to America's Receiver up the right side, caught (37 yd gain) [diving tackle: Blotto Otto] Replay
1:15 1st & 10 OPP 32 Offensive Timeout Called: Carthaginian War Elephants Replay

Lon pass without TO = 14 seconds (make sense)
Long pass with TO = 7 seconds (make sense)
Getting back to the LOS take ~7 second

sack without TO = 18 seconds
Getting back to the LOS take longer after a sack then a 37 yards pass)

Team B:
1:03 1st & 10 OWN 25 Oct. O.'s Arm pass to Broyles Westbrook, hurried by Raylan Givens, up the right side, caught (15 yd gain) [tackle: Sean Cattouse] Replay
0:42 1st & 10 OWN 40.5 Moore Pheus spikes ball Replay
0:40 2nd & 10 OWN 40.5 Oct. O.'s Arm pass to Broyles Westbrook over the middle, caught (10.5 yd gain) [tackle: Busta Skull] Replay
0:21 1st & 10 OPP 49.5 Moore Pheus spikes ball Replay
0:19 2nd & 10 OPP 49.5 Moore Pheus pass to Broyles Westbrook up the right side, caught (10 yd gain) [diving tackle: Eric B-B-B-Berry] Replay
0:16 1st & 10 OPP 39 Offensive Timeout Called: Cobden Muskrats

long pass with a spike = 21 seconds
medium pass with a spike = 19 seconds
medium pass with a TO = 3 seconds

So spiking seems to save no time at all !

_______________

Here the questions
(1) Is there any situation in GLB where spiking the ball make sense ?
(2) Why the sack took so much time of the clock compared to completed passes ?
(3) What make one team faster to the LOS then the other ?

(three question, but I didn't asked anything in Q&A #11, so I feel entitled).

The lineup/hike time is somewhat randomized (around a base value depending on hurry-up mode or not). Potentially just bad luck. Perhaps the allowed random factor is too high in hurry up situations? Worth a suggestion if it's a common thing.

My question is:
How can a player ranked behind one in the positional ranking for conference and be ranked ahead of the player in overall ranking for conference?

My player was ranked #1 in Conf All HB ST Rank and #3 in Conf ST Rank.
The other HB was ranked #2 in Conf All HB ST Rank and #1 in Conf ST Rank.

Position rankings do not take into account pct of team contributions; just total stats score. The conference rank takes into team contribution, rank in total MVP score for all positions, and rank amongst just your position.

Is this a cut block?

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=1990391&pbp_id=5576966

If so, how can the TE do a cut block with 0 in the Cut Block SA?

It cannot be, if he has no cut block skill. They probably were evenly matched and both lost enough balance at about the same time.

I was wondering if you could expand on what goes on between the QB and Reciever as far as the "risk calculation". Like what is the order of operations? A while back you went through the WR/CB interaction on the catch/deflect roll, I was wondering ifyou could divulge on the QB Throw/Dont Throw interaction.

There's no real special "order of operations." It just compares the distances/positions of defenders and assigns them a score. It assigns a score to the distance of the receiver from the 1st down marker or route hot spot, specified play distance, his attributes, etc. Then it adds the scores up and if the total below a set threshold of "risk allowance," which is dictated by pressure (nearby "tackle the QB" defenders), the QB will throw the ball. If it's over the threshold, he'll see if he should move on to the next progression.

And that's all for this Q & A. Will leave up for a couple of days until it's entered in the searchable Wiki. Thanks everyone for your patience!

Strong base is a pass block only skill. It does not directly affect pancake or stun abilities, but it could help you keep the other guy off balance and improve your chances of those happening in general, just by the fact that it improves your pushing ability.

Sorry I know this is locked but did bort read this question as relating to Strong Arm not Strong Base?
