Not really much of a newbie but I am attempting to build 3 stops for my team this season. I no basicly nothing when it comes to building a good STOP. Any good ideas? Would love a full build plan if anybody has one but it certainly not needed.

It all depends on what position you are choosing and what archetype. The special teams archetype has its advantages and disadvantages. The advantages are that you have 5 major attributes which makes for a well balanced STOP. It also helps the special teams coordinator to quickly know who is a STOP. The disadvantage is that the balance you get from 5 major attributes can prevent you from going extreme on a given attribute.

So to keep it simple I suggest picking what you want to be good at. For example do you want to be a gunner (fumble forcer), blocker, or do both well? Actually, you should be able to play both ways but most builds lean towards blocking or tackling.

I think DEs and SSs make the best gunners because of their skills and SAs. O linemen make great blockers for obvious reasons but these positions also tend to go well both ways because of their weight and ALGs.

So a simple gunner plan would be to shoot for 140 to 160 speed with EQ and 80's to 90's in strength, agility and tackling. 60 in stamina and blocking round out these types of builds nicely. Vision is debatable but I aim for 70. Monster hit, first step, and head hunter are great SAs.

When it comes to blockers I split my EQ between strength and speed with more emphasis on strength. I aim for 130+ strength and 100+ speed. 75 to 85ish agility blocking and tackling. 60 stamina and again about 70 vision should be fine. Cut block, get low, and first step are good SAs as well.

Here is a link to my old STOP DE. He is still number 1 in the HOF but his build is very old. Most STOPs look much better now days but he should give you a general idea.

Hi, I'm in no way an expert regarding good builds
but I am a special team coordinator on 3 teams right now, and did it for other teams in the past too
so I've ssen quite a few STOP builds
If you team will only build 3 STOPs, I would go with the balanced/wedge blocker type (not force fumble focus)
build speed first, than agility
and I suggest matching the speed and agility of the returner !
after that, it's blocking and tackling - I like a 1:1 ratio for a balanced/ type of STOP
but that's debatable - and other ratios will do fine too
strength should be somewhat high in the end, but it's not a major, right ?!
So you should add it after you've reached your goals for your majors
todays sim will require some vision too, because of juke
Special team plays use a lot of stamina, but STOPs are not playing so much and with the VA choices, first capped stamina (will raise with ALGs) will do the job imo
but if you are a good dot builder you can aim for higher stamina than I do

I'll pm you the build of my lvl 71 STOP, so you can have a look at a balanced STOP build
But it's possible to go in other directions, depending on what you want your STOP to do

edit: also take a close look at AngryDragons advice, because he is a special team expert

Mine are open. Most people prefer a lot more vision on theirs, but this is one way you can go:

For this sim, I'm guessing you'll want to bump up blocking and vision. Probably have to take it from spd/stam?
