First round was no upsets but it proved how terrible the bottom half of Naga is. Garuda had close games all around, and nothing but blowouts in Naga. In a mild upset, Stop Signs and their defense hold TKW to 7 points in their win. Both Wu and LSP were put on upset alert against Empire and Laos respectively.
Garuda 1st round games decided by an average of 7 PPG while Naga was decided by 44.25 PPG on average. But now is the gut check week and this is who I have.
Both conferences have been switching the super wok recently with the Garudas winning for Naga in s23. Empire won for Garuda in s22, season 24 Semarang brought Garuda the Wok and last season MADCOW took home wok.
NAGA CONFERENCE
Drunk Monks (1) vs Garudas (4)
Monks won the initial game and beat them this round last season. It has been the Monks destiny to lose in the CCG, though it hasn't reached BSS levels. Garudas aren't doing their 1 up, 1 down anymore either. With that history I have Boomy's crew on to yet another CCG.
Prediction: Monks by 12, 28-16
Bali (2) vsCult (3)
Bali hit them pretty hard, but I think CoP will come back hard. Both teams have good dots but will the Bali offense be able to move if they don't get a ton of interceptions? This seems like a game poised for an end of game fuck up so that being said I think Cult redeems themselves.
Prediction: Cult by 1, 35-34
GARUDA CONFERENCE:
Pelicans (1) vs Stop Signs (4)
Aside from a beatdown by Wu in week 3, LSP has been unstoppable. They better hope Wu loses, because they have bent the rest of Garuda over. I think the RPE2 team keeps on with their winning ways into yet another CCG which is the 2nd in 2 seasons for them.
Prediction: LSP by 13, 20-3
Punishers (2) vs Wu Dang (3)
Punishers won the first time due to apparant AI errors. They have a great young team up against Wu. Wu went through some problems midseason, dropping 2 straight at one point with one being vs the Punishers. I don't think Purgatory has the experience or firepower to keep up with Wu.
Prediction: Wu Dang KFA by 6, 48-42
