there's a few VAs that work against "more famous" or "older" players... with the advent of age-based leagues, 90% of all players in a given conference are the same age and roughly the same fame until reaching the pro/world leagues. The intention of VAs like "Underdog" would be better met by simply replacing age or fame with level (either actual or effective), and might make some of the VAs that no one ever uses anymore worthwhile again for certain players.

+.5 Definitely a "yes" to replacing age with level. I'd have to give replacing fame some more thought, only because I haven't given a flip about fame outside of earning "Heart of a Champion," and my gut says that one shouldn't be based on level.

if you replaced age with level, you might get some people only boosting to 78 instead of 79 to try and take advantage of some VAs

At least those VAs will be used.

At least those VAs will be used and then found to not work.

It already is level basically under the current set up since if a dot is made even 1 day into the season they don't get the original 3 boosts. So once season 1 for that dot comes to a close, he is younger AND lower leveled forever.

Also, they would be less famous if they were created after the first season game.

there are boosted, non-boosted and partially boosted players out there. you can have situations where the two players are the same age but one has always boosted and one only partially, the level difference can be quite high... the VAs designed for younger/less famous players should apply to the lower level guy, even if they are the same age/fame.

Not just there, but also every season before then. Boost early? Boost late? Making the change in the OP would add some strategy.

i am not totally sure what fame even measures or how fame points are acquired, but from a quick review of my own dots, there's a big discrepancy between fame gained playing on human owned teams vs. non-human owned teams--so if you have two dots--on who plays in d-leauges and one who doesn't, but have 100% identical statistical performances over 10 seasons, one could have 500 more fame than the other. This might also work with elite/competitive/normal conferences, too, and there may even be a difference in fame between playing regular and casual. If any or all of these are true, there shouldn't be any VAs based on fame IMO (even as a prerequisite); Fame seems to be a never-fully implemented component of the game altogether.
