I've always seen it were it's not considered a reception allowed if no yardage is made. So a screen would only be counted a reception if they actually gain yardage

Also, if for some reason it can't "not" be a rec allowed, then count them as backwards passes and call them a run.

where have you seen that?

If a forward pass is caught, it is a reception-regardless of how many yards the receiver gains (or doesn't gain)

thats like saying if i tackled a runningback behind the LOS, it wasnt a run.

a reception is a reception. Props to someone giving the guy a 2 yard loss or something but its still a catch on him.

if it's a forward pass than it's not a screen (talking about GLB here btw), and if it's caught, it's most likely a gain

Not all screens are forward passes, tbh.

I guess also with GLB, and single back screen, a screen could be a 4 yard quick slant where the WRs intentionally do offensive pass interference

so anything goes

Yes they are.

If they are backwards; it's a lateral and therefore not a pass. It's a run.

EDIT: If GLB has it coded wrong, than they need to fix that. Maybe it is happening, but I haven't noticed any laterals being called "passes".

In real life and GLB, plenty of screen passes are thrown forward but don't make it to the line of scrimmage. This should count as a reception for negative yardage.
