I suggest returning (at least) FFA and the Politics and Religion sections of GD to being able to open only when logged in:

1-certain countries around the world will block GLB completely if there is material they find objectionable
2- many companies will block GLB for the same reasons
3- an open forum for religion or politics will invite cyber-trolls from outside GLB to come in for whatever reason
4- all kinds of general spam

I will make sure Bort is aware of that

no other opinions on this? seriously, there's a risk here of having a lot of users blocked from GLB just because of some non-game related forums

And given the amount of general complaining that can go on, I'd lock the suggestions forum as well.

You cannot post while you are not logged in.

As well... FFA, GD and TT at least are not able to be viewed while not logged in.


That is what occurred when I tested it logged off.


I don't see the suggestion as bad.


But without signing up.... you cannot spam the forums.

That's a change that's happened since fogie55 made the suggestion. Implemented? Posting was never the issue.

just tested it...seems that, indeed, you can now not access GD, FFA and TT while non-logged in EXCEPT if you click on the "Hidden Mature Content" that shows under "Last Post" you link directly to the last post without having to agree to the 18+ thing. Other posts beyond the most recent are not viewable.

So yeah, except the thing that's probably a bug this seems to have been implemented.
