with all the new formations, would be nice to have more flexibility with where the CBs, FS and SS can line up. The FS and SS are locked to one side or the other and 3 of 5 CBs seem to be fixed to one side or the other, regardless of whether its spread, trips, shotgun 5 or whatever they face.

At the very least the FS needs to be unlocked in 4-4 sets where he is the only safety, at present he can't move past the left hashmark nor even as far to the outside right as a CB can.

Also, related, seems like if any non-DL is assigned as QB Spy they should be able to line up anywhere.

with the added plays and formations, they must loosen up on the D players and where we can line them up.

also a good point with the spy suggestion

+0 on the suggestion. The DPC needs to show CBs where they're going to be when they line up in man coverage -- meaning the DPC needs to move CB3 over to WR3 when designing coverage for singleback trips, for just one example -- but it doesn't need to be open season on DB placement yet.

+1 for unlocking the FS in 4-4 sets, and would add that the SS should be unlocked in goal line sets.

Why not....there is no such limitation in real life. I understand the changes that occurred to DL and LBs due to so many exploit blitzes, but CBs are extremely limited, while safeties are only mildly better.

Just make an additional thread and I'll edit the title of this one if necessary (just PM me or another mod). There's no way to splice a thread, lol.

I'm not sure why you consider CBs "extremely limited" (low strength? low tackling? too fast?), but I'd wager that you'd see pure blitzing CBs become the rage once they're allowed to be placed anywhere on the field. I concede that there's no such RL limitation, but there's also very limited ability to adjust in-game to an overload blitz. Give the OAI either the ability to adjust playcalls after X sacks/hurries or some sort of audible if X players are "showing blitz" and open DB placement becomes viable.

treat them like LBers where if they blitz they automatically revert back to acceptable positions. +1 to be able to move DBs anywhere for coverage.

CB1 -> blitz
CB2 -> WR2
CB3 -> blitz
CB4 -> WR1

Yeah we need to be able to move the SS/FS/CB anywhere for coverage.
And I agree that when the CB blitz, they get moved back to their acceptable positions.

The FS has good movement already, CB 2 can be moved pretty much anywhere, so all that really needs done is free up the SS a bit to get over the BTE position without having to use cover man.
