Have a question you want answered about anything regarding GLB? Ask here and we'll do our best to answer it for you. We will keep this thread open until 9/16/2011 and then will lock it up so that we can get the questions answered.

Rules of this thread are simple:

1) All forum rules apply
2) Keep it on topic. Ask a question and wait for your answer. This is not an opinion thread, nor is it a place to question/attack other users.
3) Show respect to users asking questions. We want this thread to be a resource for users and a place where they can come without fear of facing forum trolls and personal attacks.
4) General Support related questions (i.e. general game play questions) should still be directed to Support. If I see questions of that nature, I will direct you to contact them.
5) Asking when we are going to add a feature to the game is not really a question. It's a question veiled as a suggestion. If you have a suggestion to make, please do so in the Suggestions forum. We will not answer these types of questions.
6) All off topic posts and questions will be deleted in order to keep the thread organized and focused solely on the questions.
7) In general, most sim related questions will be answered by Bort. If I do not personally answer your question it's because I am going to pass it forward to him for review and to answer.

In this seasons sim, it seems that QB's are even worse at seeing the blitz/throwing the ball. 9/10 times they just stand there and take the blitz. Is there any plans to increase a QB's awareness? There are tons of overman blitzes that work great right now because the QB's just won't throw the ball no matter what the settings/vision/etc.

Would need specific examples of the issue you are talking about to determine whether it's something that is happening to all QB's or if it is build/tactic related. As of right now though there are no plans to increase QB's awareness but if evidence is presented to me that is overwhelming then I'd take a look at it and see if we potentially needed to do something.

I recommend trying different things out and finding what works and doesn't work. There are too many variables/factors to ever give such generic advice. Let's not turn this thread into a passing sucks thread.

Try this: (I think he won't mind if I post it here).

Here, use this spreadsheet. I'll leave it as an exercise to the script writers to turn it into a manageable forumula.

https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0Ao39eFeqMw_ZdDZjaTdmQkU0UlFEdmlKalZtOENqOVE&hl=en&authkey=COmi3eAM

Copy the spreadsheet for yourself (Giving edit permissions to people would be a nightmare).
Put your attributes down the left side in the purple columns.
Add up your SA SP value yourself (or someone can make a new one that calcs those up too)
Put the number of VPs you have (spent and unspent) into the purple - they appear to count .1 SP value.
Add your unspent SPs to the next purple line

Tried it on a few of mine, works for them.
This will only work with base attributes up to 100.92 - but it's enough to give the script writers the idea on the formula.

Edit: Sample player in the spreadsheet is my retired guy: http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=1055558

Sneaking one in past the bell.

Obviously we've seen Spin pretty much takeover and in its absence we tend to see Power Thru (albeit at a lower clip nowadays). Just wondering if SAs like Power Thru/Lower the Shoulder are more likely to fire on tackle attempts that are "dead on" while an SA like Stiff Arm or Spin would be more likely to fire on tackle attempts that are made from an angle.

No, we felt that it was already too easy to develop stadiums and were fine with the change the accelerated player development change caused.

Calling back to my question from the last Q&A thread...
http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=4675729&page=7#42983745

This offseason, I still saw a lot of CPU-roster and even CPU-owned teams get promoted straight up from the Bottom tier in their age group to the Elite tier, where they are now getting regularly spanked by triple-digit scores; meanwhile there are other teams with complete rosters who got demoted from Elite to Competitive who, while they didn't do very well in Elite before, would still at least not be losing all of their games by triple-digit scores if they were kept in Elite.

Has Bort given any further thought to this issue? He mentioned the possibility of "Maybe the demoting elite teams should be first pulls instead" in his answer last season, which would be a good start.

If your choice for the last spot in Elite is between A.) a CPU team from the Bottom tier that is going to lose all of their Elite games 200-0, or B.) a human-roster team that went 4-12 in Elite last season but whose losses were all by 60 points or less, isn't it better to go with Team B? Both teams suck, but Team B sucks less, and thus would be less disruptive to the league's competitive balance than Team A would be.

(Yeah, I'm not dropping this issue. Don't make me get out my spreadsheets again. )

Was answered at the last Q & A. Not going to take it to Bort a second time.

Do we still get new offensive plays in S25?

Are the survivor improvements coming?

#1 - eventually, low priority though.

#2 - still planning on it yes.

#3 - yes, should be soon.

Will Bort ever fix the MVP Formula / HOF formulas to allow for newer players to finish in the top of the rankings if they deserve it?

Currently turd builds that played 12 seasons in USAPL are 1-10

Is there a fix for people put their decliners on Regional Pro teams w/ a CPU defense and run up the scores to climb up the HOF charts?

Do you like Mat McBriar's idea for dynamic player stats? http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=4724612

#1 - possibly

#2 - not sure, would likely require some type of suggestion and feedback

#3 - No, but if you can think of one that makes sense (and making sense is the key word here), I'm open to listening

#4 - sure but probably not something we'd make high priority. Could probably be a post-beta thing.

Are there any concerns/changes on the horizon for spin? Spin is the only break tackle SA with a rushing slider bonus, and 2 VA bonuses (others have none) and as such we see spin at least 5x more than any other break tackle SA. Is this intended, and if not, do you have any plans/ideas on how to balance it?

(unrelated but imo you guys gave the elusiveness bonus to spin to encourage low strength elusive backs to get it, but all that happened is you shifted the GLB meta to where all HBs must be elusive guys who break tackles too)

=======

What sort of things do you guys look for when deciding to adjust different elements of the sim? (ie what would have to happen for something to be considered underpowered or overpowered to the point of needing adjustment?)

=======

Are there any current plans to add or subtract/adjust more VAs?

=======

Besides catching, what is the most important part of anti-PD rolls

=======

Can you explain exactly what "Pass Distance % AE" does?

=======

Since blocking has an effect on break block rolls, does hold block% AE have any effect on break block rolls?

=======

#1 - no plans on the horizon for changing how Spin works. Doesn't mean we won't ever evaluate it, just not something we have looked at or had concerns with at this time.

#2 - basically the main criteria is can it be defended or countered. We also look for anomalies that stand out and could lead to balance issues. If it can't be defended, countered, or is possibly unbalanced we will evaluate whether a sim change needs to be made.

#3 - possibly, but nothing that we've discussed at this time.

Rest of questions will get Bort to answer.

No plans on changing anything with how centers work. Reverse pancake numbers =/= failure to perform.
