We need to get the leagues properly sorted, and this is a great idea

http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=4666272&page=1#42735212

If you agree, please post in your team forums and let others now, since most don't follow the suggestions threads daily this will give them easy access to take a quick look and add their input to making the future of GLBs future

Thanks!

I like it. Especially the part about only having one ELITE league per level. Elite should be the WL equivalent of your age group. Not a mixture of good teams and average teams. That is not elite. "Sorters" would definitely help create more competitive leagues.

I know people will disagree with me, but you should also have the ability to opt out of Elite. I would hate to get stuck in a league with a chronic complainer... just let them leave.

I won't disagree, those that complain and are scared to be the best of the league-let them be, send them where ever...BUT if that team has performed and actually belongs in elite he should be there, let him complain...(In the forum I posted about that...Teams in random bs league # 43 should earn their way to be able to compete in the elites and not be promoted because they won gold.gif in a league with 98% CPU teams...

Earn your way to elite, you either compete or you don't...you don't compete, you are demoted to competitive, you dont compete again you are demoted to lol bs leagues so hopefully the team can win that beloved trophy versus CPU teams...They can have their gold, but to everyone else it will just be lol...If thats what those teams what, let them have it...We are here to be the best...Not grab a trophy that means nothing...If your team isn't competitive in elite and never will be-by all means, enjoy your success in the shit leagues...Just don't claim to be a good team....If you work your way up by winning for 2 or 3 seasons and are placed in Elite, then enjoy the competition and understand your team is not in the upper echelon....

With this process, most of the teams (not all) will enjoy the competition...They will learn respect if they can't do it...Then they will be demoted back to where they deserve to be...

The leagues need to be based on the best, and not spread out over 2 leagues (with one conference the tough teams that will fight for their spot and the other conference has 2 or 3 teams that are good and the rest have no chance)

The tougher conference almost always wins the trophy, if we split it up equally, we will see who the real teams are and the best teams will meet in the championship game instead of meeting earlier in the playoffs

I agree with what you are saying. However, cowards will be cowards. They will find a way to skirt the system. If we just let them leave, then they could go to the highest level possible just before elite. This type of filtering would cause agents to want to be in elite because elite would mean much more than it does now.

My team was 12-4 last season and I believe the 7 seed in Competitive. Only here by virtue of a couple of playoff upsets. Sealed our own grave for S23. Not gonna bitch though. Looking forward to seeing the best teams at this level play, even if they're waxing our asses every other calendar day.

A 7 seed from competitive has no business being in Elite IMO, and from your post I am sure you agree...Of course seeding doesn't matter, as a lot of teams don't plan much during the regular season...Success when it counts should be worth more...We want to get the leagues to where every game counts in the regular season, in order to make the post season and the best teams really have to work then...

If we can get the same parity in these leagues as the WL and PW have, we will be set...There is only one in each league...Teams should work their way up for 2 to 3 seasons...Maybe we should have every league from Rookie to University just to sort teams according to their success...And when they move to Local Minor start the Elite, Competitive and BS leagues based on teams previous seasons...The teams that don't compete are demoted and the final 4 (maybe 8) teams that are left in the playoffs take their place...If you aren't competing for a trophy in competitive #1, you shouldn't be promoted...If you win gold in random BS CPU league #172, keep winning and competing against real teams for 2 or 3 seasons to EARN your way to ELITE...

I think part of the problem is that a lot of those teams have well built dots, but have bad coordinators. That's why they lose, but because of the players they get moved to Elite.

If they started a coordinator ranking system, and figured that into the equation, then those teams wouldn't make it to Elite.

I sure do miss the old days when you played for promotion to the next level or in some cases, fighting to keep from being relegated down.
