Sim Major Changelog (affects following day)
Mar 27, 2011
- Fix some bugs in blocking code causing secondary blitzers (CB, FS, etc) to not get picked up very often, but make the vision checks to pick up distant blitzers harder
- Improve spy -> tackle transition AI to take a better angle vs running QBs
- Allow multiple QB spies in basic tactics, and add FS to spy options

Up to six spies? Yikes!

The more things change the more they stay the same.

The GLB NERF it into oblivion rather than invest time in a true attempt at toning down RQB's..

I find it curious that it follows all other GLB whimsical precedences (death to agility DE's, death to powerback now death to rushing QB's...)

The GLB way if enough people complain, don't bother to fix it, just Kill it.

I have no major invesstment in a RQB system so no real biggee to me, just retire the new team at end of the season and rebuild however I pity the teams fully built and several seasons invested. It has to suck for them.

We all know something needed to be done. But this seems like another over the top fix/breaking of the RQB.

I shall wait and see if it is indeed as powerful a correction as it looks to be thus far.

Oh well, few thousand flex down the drain again....

I don't think its going to be that big a deal. Nonetheless, There should be a rule about serious SIM changes during the season.
I mean there's no chance for a scrim or anything before the next regular season game. What happens at this level is entirely different than what happens at Pro Level.

What if you set two spies just to find out you now have two guys instead of one not paying any attention, blind as a bat, "looking for ladybugs" with a thumb up their butts, whenever a 80 spd level 7 Elusive Back breaks for the outside edge?

I don't think RQBs have been killed... they just won't average 9+ YPC anymore... which I think is all most people were asking for.

From the very small sample of games I've looked at since the new spy settings this morning, it appears one of three things has happened:

1) The teams facing RQBs didn't get the message in time to adjust tactics

or

2) Teams facing RQBs today haven't really figured out how to use the new tactics

or

3) The new settings have no effect.

Tomorrow evening's Casual Pro games may be able to eliminate at least one of those possible outcomes...

Or you just hammer the middle with the speed backs and QBs 100 times a game. There never was an issue with rushing QBs. Fools just had no idea how to stop it. It was pretty easy.

I know what you mean, but I feel like I'm starting to figure this game out a little bit and I still have a hard time stopping a RQB.

Too early to tell, but it looked like it was "mitigating" it some, but we still had some really damaging break-aways. Sort of like how the Dallas Badgers used to do it. Not every play, but enough to ruin your opponent's game.

But of course LA is running all TE's at receiver, which killed Alaska's CB's. So, like I've always maintained, if you're whole team is built in one direction and built well it should eventually pay off. Neither Multi-Spies or RQB's all by themselves will make the difference on way or the other.

+1 on this entire message.

Adding 6 spies should kill it .

You cant say it ain't realistic being able to put 6 spies on the QB... because in real football you can do whatever you damn well want.

Running QBs in real football are unrealistic if you know its coming.

We built every offensive position to support one game plan; fast, evasive, agile running. Nerfing that in the middle of a season ain't right. Hell, Bort didn't nerf it he killed it dead. New angles for the secondary to the ball runner and a spy on both sides of the field may or may not be more realistic but its NOT something you do in the middle of a season with no chance to adapt your team to the new realities or even to test out countermeasures in a scrimmage.

Therefor no more flex from me until GLB moves out of BETA.

Why should Bort give warning to people who are cheating. The point of the game is to build the best players, assemble the best teams and run the best game plans. Not search high and low for a way to trick the SIM to your advantage and winning using an exploit. I have had 2 RQB's on 2 teams for multiple seasons, and never have I used that exploit. I knew it existed, but I guess my integrity level is greater. Probably the funniest thing I have seen here in a long time was some of the same people crying about Nachos in the Post season were using a cheat to win. Funny shit.
