Week 2 Match-Ups
Western Conference
Tennessee 0-1 vs Lacashire
In a complete reversal from last week’s results I look for Tennessee to rebound thumping and even their record against a Wolverine team who whooped up on a barely there Psycho Gorilla team. I’m still pulling for Tennessee’s stocked roster to kick it into high gear and show what they’re made of
Buffalo Billz Rookies 0-1 vs Toronto 0-1
A new team on the block. Toronto should be able to reverse their fortunes and hurry up to a .500 record. The Billz have brought in some dots, but they are still level 1s and there are far too few to be competitive even this early in the season.
Tokyo 1-0 vs Bedford 0-1
Tokyo will moonwalk all over Bedford and pull over their third straight shutout. Bedford showed little punch against Samba last week and I don’t see them improving this week.
Mason County 1-0 vs Pudong 0-1
Mason Cty is too stocked and too strong to lose this one. Their defense showed some weakness last week, giving up 24 points to a cpu sim. Pudong should finally get the ball into the end zone, but probably not as much as the Marauders.
Waianae 0-1 vs Ohio State 1-0
In an effort to keep the NCAA off his back, the coach has chosen take on the 5 game suspension his players will themselves be facing. What does that mean in dot ball? Well, nothing, but what other RL scandals do I have to talk about? Last week I picked Waianae and they blemished my record. This week I won’t make the same mistake. That and OSU being much better than them has me picking the nuts from Columbus.
Plymouth 0-1 vs Ty-Isaf 1-0
Im not too sure about this pick. Plymouth was able to put some points on the board with an all cpu team which tells me they might have some good AI going on there. And Ty-Isaf only beat a cpu owned team by 7. I’m giving Ty the nod here, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Plymouth pulls off the upset.
Le Mars 0-1 vs Florida 0-1
Someone will finally get a win here, but I don’t think it will be the sim. Florida got upset last week, but will piece it together for a W this time. Don’t expect many fireworks in this one.
Peoria 0-1 vs Wookiee 1-0
More of the same for both these teams; another goose egg for Peoria and another shut out for the Wookiees. Peoria’s level 1 dots will be outmanned at every position and have trouble moving the ball inside or out. The Wookiees win this one big.
Eastern Conference
Cliché 1-0 vs Rochester0-1
Too many 4s versus too few human dots. Cliché will handle the Vendetta easily. Cliché is stacked and ready for the long run. They won’t look past Rochester though on their way to 2-0. This week V stands for Vicodin!
Your TDs 0-1 vs Ft. Gordon 1-0
The Commandos with have no problem scaling these mild peaks and planting the American flag for all to see. They should be able to ‘signal’ a victory before the first quarter is over. I’m calling for porn star sized TDs in this game!
Springfield 0-1 vs WalMart 1-0
WalMart will keep using a ground and pound attack to knock the Isotopes to an 0-2 record. I haven’t seen People of Walmart this excited since the local K-Mart closed and they didn’t have to make that life threatening decision of which store to choose between.
FFA 1-0 vs Philly 1-0
I like this Ice Bats team. They have a balanced offense and a competent defense. FFA beat up on a gutted team and acted as if they secured a play-off spot. Too bad class doesn’t come with winning.
Otago 0-1 vs Bortsville 1-0
I’m still not convinced in the Nerfs, but they did secure the win last week and play an IM team this week. Despite my lack of faith in anything that has the name Bort in it, they should move to 2-0. I hope Otago fares better in their Iron League.
10 Years 0-1 vs MOJO 0-1
I’m actually picking a cpu team to beat a human team. No, I haven’t lost my mind. I am impressed by Odessa’s 24 points they put up against a top team in the West and remain unimpressed by the Psycho Gorillas. The Panthers should be able to keep their crazy passing stats up this week as well.
Samba 1-0 vs South Yorkshire 1-0
Yorkshire narrowly won by 7 over a cpu team last week. If they gave up 56 to a cpu sim, how much are they going to give up to a quality opponent? I’m not in the business of picking scores, but I am going for a lop-sided blow out here. Samba reeks havoc and sends the southsiders home in battered and bruised.
Game of the Week
Colonial 1-0 vs Chocolate Eels 1-0
In the only matchup between 2 undefeated teams who truly dominated their previous opponents, the Zoners and the Chocolate Eels battle it out in our first Game of the Week. Colonial threw up 77 last week and held their opponent to under 150 yards. The problem is it was Poo-Dung. They won’t have the same success against the Eels. The Eels victory may have come at the hands of a team in transition and turmoil, and it may have given them an inflated sense of security.
