We have the fastest WR in this league and three of the best backs, so hopefully it all evens out against various KR units and rushing QBs.

I'm not contesting your claim JB, but how can you be sure your receivers are the fastest in Elite #1?

WR singular. I just don't think many 'great' WRs are located in the casual leagues at this point, with the exception of LT's crew. That said, obviously a single attribute is almost entirely useless for determining build viability, so you should probably take what I said/say in about 85% jest

I would say Sparta probably has the strongest receivers in our conference...would you agree?
(Or at least you did last season.)

Bug's players are supremely adaptable, let's say.

OK, so, is there any particular reason I should bother keeping my team (Spokane) together, given that it looks like we're going to be losing by 200+ points every week no matter how much work we put in to improve the roster?

just sayin'. I basically had to tear apart a good group of level-40-ish players that I wanted to keep together, because we got severely outleveled due to the promotion (which I requested NOT to happen, and was ignored), and if we're just going to get led to the slaughter every week no matter what we do, where's the incentive to keep my ownership going, rather than pocketing the flex points and using them on something that might actually be productive?

I don't particularly WANT to pull the plug, since as a good owner I do feel some obligation to the guys who signed on with us...but then again, if there's no chance of winning, what difference does it make if they have a CPU owner vs. a human one?

Unhappy owner, venting.

I agree, your 500 day old level 40s should be far more competitive. Have you tried running right?

Not sure if you want us to troll you or be straight with you, so I did both:

Troll:
No team in the league has a TE with Draw offsides chance +5% AEQ, so that's a plus.
Because no one else is going to dedicate a team to the Lilac City.
Your 10-year hiatus in the team history would make Jesus jealous.
Your team still hasn't fully embraced your "please close your builds request" ... selling back now wouldn't teach them a lesson!

Straight:
Dump them. You only have about 4 or 5 players who boosted consistently throughout their career, so you essentially have no future with this team unless you recruit your ass off again next season. Your dots are way overmatched and will continue to be.

Sell the team, let your players find another situation (cuz you know they'll get like 50 offers in the first hour), and be done with this headache.

Or, keep 'em and line up for a gauntlet of 255-0's.

Nah, I was being serious (insofar as one gets serious about any online game). Exactly how is the promotion system working when the reward for trying to build a team from scratch with mid-level-40 players is getting placed in a league where the effective level is around 70? I was hoping to keep the team together for a couple more seasons and build up gradually, but that plan got trashed by the promotion.

I should mention that the other two best teams from my league in season 20, Orlando and Vatican City, were both better than mine last year, both signed a lot of good guys in addition to keeping their core together, and they're regularly getting annihilated in the preseason too. Again, is this how the system is supposed to be working?

If having a lot of games where the opposition's play-by-play reads "incomplete-incomplete-incomplete-punt return TD" over and over is what you're here for, great, hope you're having fun. For me, the most memorable games have been the close ones where there's a real back-and-forth between the two teams to the end. I've been on both sides of that equation, and after about a 70 point margin even routs where I'm winning get boring and monotonous to watch. If a league isn't getting many close games on a regular basis, sorry, but there's something wrong. That's the whole point behind the promotion/demotion system, to get similar teams grouped at the same level, at least that's what we've been told.

Hey, maybe I'm off-base, and we're going to have an exciting season with most of the teams in the hunt until the end. Time will tell, but looking at DG's analysis above doesn't give much optimism. If your effective level isn't 74 and your chemistry already close to 100, well...not much room at the inn, is there?

Hey thanks trent. If we can hang with the Dot Fathers, and the other top teams in Regional Pro Elite, I will count this as a successful season.
