So my LB Cyclic Rate finished the season in second place for the Conf D MVP award, but finished at the top for all LBs. All is fine except the top overall D player is a LB too? Why the contradiction in the numbers? Shouldn't the top D player who is a LB also be the top the LB?

Conference vs. league.

No, they are both conference rankings, and they are both in the same conference.

Just because your LB is rated higher, doesn't mean it's more important to it's defense.

Oh my god... I am just saying, why isn't the top D player also the top player in it's position???? It doesn't make sense... does anyone agree with this?

I think the MVP factors in some of the blowout adjusted stats and a couple other factors. I understand and agree with what you are saying but I am in the same boat as you in a couple different leagues so it is what it is.

I thought I had read somewhere that the MVP was randomly selected from the top 3. Could be wrong though.

You are talking about the MVP endorsement, that is randomly selected from the top few

A few seasons back, my HB (retired) won the MVP trophy and the endorsement while sitting at number 2 on the blowout adjusted MVP list. So who really knows how it is calculated. I did not find out til after day 40.

I would guess that overall ranking is just that, while MVP is calculated using close games with higher stat point values then blowouts.

MVP calculations and overall ratings are different.

We've gathered that at this point.... Im just saying that the top overall D player should be the top at their position too...

He is talking about this -

Jack Schitt (LB) - #1 Conference D Rank but #2 Conf All LB D Rank

Cyclic Rate(LB) -#2 Conference D Rank but #1 Conf All LB D Rank

How can a LB be #1 in the conference, yet be #2 in the conference at his position?

No. MVP Rankings involve team calculations, overall positional ratings don't.

Just tell him what he wants to hear.. you are right. He doesn't understand that you can be the best LB in the league but not be the most important dot to your team compared to how important the #2 LB is for it's team.
