I think it'd be nice if STOPs got their own SA trees. Perhaps they can have one offensive (blocking, pancakes, hold block) and one defensive (tackling, break block, force fumble etc).

it'd be nice to be able to create a STOP and just have all the SAs a special teamer would need rather than mixing and matching based on position- i.e. using an OL for blocking STOPs and defensive players for tackling STOPs.

I mean, the whole point of a STOP is to be out there for ever special teams snap, might as well give them the tools they need to do their job properly.

i guess i should give an example to make it a proper suggestion.

Offensive skill tree:
Quick Cut-> Balance -> Hands (hold block) ->Pummel -> Pancake

Defensive skill tree:
Change Direction -> Shed Block -> Diving Tackle -> Monster Hit -> Head Hunter

Returner Skill tree (if necessary):
First Step-> Change Direction -> Juke -> Spin-> Return Specialist

i think it should also allow people to differentiate their STOPs at creation, choosing offensive, defensive, balanced, or Returner STOPs, and having bonus/penalty SAs. I just think it would make the STOP creation more fun and differentiated

Good idea...I think that instead of all the archetypes, they should have just made them their own position and added an OoPP any time they play something other than special teams. Why create a non-100 flex one?

well, i like it in theory, but I think the STOP archetype needs to stay, just differentiate it a bit more. This will help in the marketplace to make searching for STOPs easier. and- if a ST Coord needs a specific type of STOP, they could search OSTOP (blocking) or DSTOP (tackling), or RSTOP (Returner).

I like where you are going with it. I'm sure it can be improved in some way and that's fine too

agreed - current fumble forcing STOP's are already difficult to deal with and are only going to get worse

STOP as one of the position choices is a great idea.

That setup seems to support the idea of making STOP a position, with the Archetypes being Blocking and Coverage. Those could also be the two SA trees,

Blocking - Run Block, Get Low, Hands, Cut Block, Pancake
Coverage - First Step, Change Direction, Wrap Up Tackle, Diving Tackle, Monster Hit
