Because that's how Bort coded it when he set up the game? Not sure of his exact reasoning but I'm sure he has one.

Coaches are on indefinite hold for now. We might revisit them at a later date but it's low on our list at this moment.

No plans on using numbers in replays. Might be an "option" we give people but I know personally speaking, I'd prefer to know the position of the player for scouting purposes then the number of the player.

My question is regarding the reason why it won't happen. I have two suspicions but obviously there could be a third answer that I don't under or recognize. Please be as detailed as possible.

Why will there not be an Offensive Play Creator:

1. The way offensive plays are currently coded it would be too hard and take too long to programmatically create a dynamic offensive play creation system.
2. The possible game balance issue introduced in making the Offensive Play Creator would cause too much upheaval and therefor can't realistically be done right.

Again, I would like details, so for example if the problems are coding issues, what parts of the coding are hard?

It would add too much complexity to the game and has an even larger potential for exploits then the DPC does.

(a.) Scouting opponent's last 3 games.
(b.) Scouting opponent's toughest games (maybe another 2).
(c.) Make adjustments to your AI.
(d.) Set tactics for your agents.

I don't think that's something you can define. Users at the highest levels are there usually because they invest time in the game and that's probably the way it should be. We're doing what we can to improve interfaces and make game planning/coordinating/scouting easier but in the end run it will always be user defined as to how much time is invested in playing the game.

Back to VA questions for me!

Does the bonus from clock manager to pass quality (for QB) fully stack with pass quality equipment?

For Hail Mary, is the 25 yards measured from the LoS to the target, or from the QB to the target? And is it the line the ball travels, or is it 25 yards downfield? (obviously passes on an angle travel further than the yardage gained)

Does the 'Quick Release' VA have anything to do with progressions and the QB's choice of when to throw the ball, or does it just literally speed up the throwing motion, so that the point from when the QB decides to throw the ball to the point when the ball leaves his hand is shorter?

Is there anything else that affects release speed for a QB, such as the agility or throwing stats? Or is it static except for Quick Release?

The cutoff for Technique man of needing to have 10% or more agility than your opponent...before or after equipment?

all for now!

See my previous response to you. Not trying to blow you off - just many of these questions have already been answered. If you can't find the answer there or in the FAQ/Newbie forum, then please either repost them or send me a pm and I will do my best to answer them for you.

I have been a GLB player since July 2008 and enjoyed everyday , but i am worried about all the changes being made to
the game ..

my question is..

if the changes being made start hurting the game will Bort rethink some of his changes?

as a owner and player I talk to some players who might stop owning teams after season 20 and stop playing..

as a team owner who has invested a lot of money and time in this game I am a little worried..

I do not want the changes to hurt the game we all like to play..

Of course we would rethink changes if they hurt the game. We've redone things in the past because we thought they hurt the game. The limitations to the DPC are a good example of this. Removing cash tie ins to EQ is another. If something isn't working, we will evaluate it and determine if corrective action needs to be taken.

Is GLB's goal to create a realistic Football sim or are they happy trying to clear up the bugs and kinks in status quo?

I'm not sure GLB will ever be 100% realistic. Our goal is to create an enjoyable football simulation that people have fun playing. This of course entails trying to make it as realistic as possible but 100% realism is not our goal. Higher scores and stats tend to be more fun for people to watch, so we probably won't be shooting for scores consistently in the 14-10 or 21-17 range (although you can still see these scores between two evenly matched teams at times, especially at the lower levels). Fixing bugs and kinks is always a priority.

Is there any discussions on eliminating home field advantage and now home team promos for just the league championship game?

Would be possible I would think. If there's not a suggestion on this (pretty sure there is), then I would encourage you to make one.

I had owned two teams before the season was over, the one I sold was casual as I became disinterested in the casual leagues, so now I can't buy a level 4 cap or peewee team, are there any possibilities of removing this?

No plans. We don't want to encourage massive team turnover. The 21 day timer makes it a disincentive to do so. Your best bet if you want to switch from casual to regular or vice versa is to not sell your original team. Buy a team in the area you want, move your roster over to that team and then sell the other team.

Per Bort in a previous Q & A:

We would like to retain some mystery to keep min/max builds down and give reasons for people to discuss how things work and experiment. Otherwise it's simply a 100% math game and might as well be a math test website.

Because then users would create multi's with the sole purpose of purchasing a team.

Will there ever be a keyword search in the forums? I realize you say load is the reason you do not run it. However I really find this hard to believe. Databases and serving them to insane amounts of people is how I make my living.

Can you imagine how incredibly helpful it would be to just search and see if your answer existed before you posted into another one of these mile long threads that go nowhere, have hundreds of questions, and minimal answers at best?

Perhaps you would not have so many redundant questions to answer if one were empowered to search for their own answers.

I digress...

I know at one time we were talking about implementing some type of Google Search feature but that got moved to the back burner.

FWIW, I agree that a search feature would be a huge help. I'll see what I can do to bump this up on the priority list.

What about a 2 TE formation which we can throw to either TE?
At least add some preset plays if you never going to implement a custom offense play creator.
You have an SA for Pump Fake, what about Play action? Would you consider replacing Turn Shoulder SA with Play Action?

1 - no
2 - probably
3 - planning on it
4 - it's something we've considered but we don't feel the offense needs any additional help so decided against it

I know he's been working on various aspects of that. Not sure it'll be ready for s19 though as we haven't tested it yet.
