Teams with mixed ages could be hit pretty hard on the team chem side. Is there anything in place to reduce the hit on chemistry, or is this just something that these teams will have to deal with?

Can't answer whether something will be changed but if you are worried about this affecting your team, the best thing you can do is dump them early and quickly. And do the same for the replacements. The longer you take and the more you stagger out the cuts/signings the longer (potentially) it can take to recover.

If your chemistry drops below 70 it recovers faster per day. It will still take longer but it's better to drop to say... 50 all in one shot and then recover the rest of the offseason/preseason than to dribble cuts and signings all the way to season 20 and take 30ish days to recover from the last time you cut or signed someone.

Understood. We had renegotiated contracts for 1 season prior to the announcement and I hadn't started getting into the questions regarding this change until recently. I'm going to start sending out new contracts to the group of agents that are age aligned since cap/record no longer dictate where we end up.

I have a hard time believing they'd shake up teams like that and give them no help for chemistry. It would also suck if they reset everyone's to 70/70/70, hurting teams which planned for the change.

Teams have over one season to prepare for the change. There will be no chemistry help for teams as they have had ample time to prepare their rosters.

You're either screwed this season or next season. Your choice.

How will this work.... If you have a player 20 days older or 1 season older. How can this effect a team? Will this make the team play against a season older Dot just because of 1 dot or more older ? I seem to think this has a good ideal behind it but you know what kind nightmare this is going to be recruiting dots ? If age plays that big effect for the teams league.

Yes your league will be based on your oldest dot.

That's why you should be planning now and why we are being given a full seasons notice.

I can tell you how I am going to prepare. I will be retiring two partial boosted STOPs that I had intended to fully boost the rest of their careers. I appreciate you guys saving me the flex and allowing me to prepare (I mean that sincerely even if it sounds sarcastic).

I generally do not boost my STOPs the first season to save the 3 boosts. Because of the XP difference at the lower levels, this only equates to a loss of ~ 2 levels over their lifespan, but since they are STOPs, it is not a big deal to me to lose that and it allows me to make more boosting players over time.

However, that means they are 1 season older than the rest of the team. In the past, that was no biggie, but now I am not going to hurt my entire team (which you have a player on) by forcing them into a higher age cap just to keep some STOPs. Thus, my only option is to retire them. GLB was going to get 9 seasons worth of boosting them from me, and will now get no more.

I know you guys are thinking about this from a non-booster point of view, but age based really hurts players that are partial boosters (for whatever reason) as they will not be viable at any tier now. If a player misses a couple of boosts, they are done. You should really consider that part of this change and consider if that is working as intended or not.

How do we tell what league levels teams will be in?

How do we easily search players that will fit in our league age range?

What forum do we look in for players that are the correct age?

What forum do we use to look for teams that may or may not be in the correct league next season due to unforeseen last minute changes that may be put into place?

Did anyone think of this?

You did.

I agree thouigh. I do have a couple of players that were made about 10-15 days before the rest of the teams they are on. Would be nice to know if they should leave to not hurt the team.

With that being said I see a couple of things that could happen.

1. Teams see that they may be absolutely screwed and start over because the chem hit would be too great for a competitive season and just want to start fresh.

2. Cut their losses either this season or next and try to align ages across the board, knowing that if even 1 dot (possibly in a thin position) could bump them up a cap, then they cut and use a cpu if it means that they would be more competitive.

3. Move team to an uncapped due to the imbalance and not risk the chem hit.

Am I missing anything?
