There was talk in the Test forum about putting some sort of limitation/OOP on some positions in the ST's depth chart a few seasons back. Basically to limit people from putting safeties, CB's etc at the position. I do not know if they actually went through with it, but my suggestion, if they were going to put an OOP penalty on it, was to limit to certain 'logical' positions. So the O-Line, TE, Maybe some of the bigger defensive positions, etc.

No, but I put a ST DE at Long Snapper and he was ridiculously slow. The penalty is real, and it's huge.

All dots at LS are slow. My guess is because Bort wants them functioning as a safety and there isn't an OOP.

Just curious about why the speed of the LS is always so low. I have put 140 spd guys in at LS and they move like peewee dots.

112 speed Center at LS, take a look at any of his plays to compare to your 140 speed guys.

Bort doesn't know what he is doing. LS never act as safeties on Punt teams. The two safeties are the P and the personal protector.

Maybe in some other game, but GLB obviously isn't that game.

maybe he doesn't want the LS to get off the line unabated. idk.

A brief delay for the long snapper makes sense. But the throttling they receive does not. The Punt Protector and the Punter should be the last line of the defense on Punts and the Punter should likely get a speed boost to 30 or 35 if their speed is less than that value, but at upper tier leagues you will want more speed than that so its only a benefit in lower level leagues so while punters are being built they are still 'useful' since the building system for GLB encourages unrealistic builds for most of your career.

As soon as guys figure out how to play within the game instead of trying to force the game to play how they want, they will become more successful.

If dots at LS are slow because Bort wants them to be the 'safety' at what point do they speed up? I've seen the LS be slow throughout the entire play.

If they are so slow, they may actually put themselves out of position to make the safety play.

It makes no sense.

I am not too sure how slow your LSs are but my LS ( http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=1711149 ) seems to hit 27-28 on the speed script regularly. Without giving too much away about his build, as it isn't actually my player, but he has less than 110 speed.

He's also a center, the logical long snapper.

@Vike fan 4 life - Don't always trust what bort and company says. There's been monumental mistakes in code, as well as poorly thought out or forgotten projects. There's either a bug here, or Bort and company are lying.

This should be posted in most threads...

I can dig up proof that there is an OOP at LS position. Like I said I put a ST DE there and he was slow as molasses. There may not be one for certain positions but for DE at LS there most definitely is.

Interesting.. Proof huh. How will you show that its an OOP instead of just designed into the game for the position to hang back?
