Probably not as good but we weren't in lolcapped leagues nearly as long.

If we included playoffs and ALL scims too, we're untouchable......

Capped leagues are more difficult. You never had to recruit players in a specific 3-5 level window. Easier to be outleveled in the caps too. Muscle never took an interest in scrims so you gotta throw that out. Your playoff record is very very strong of course but I'd imagine you had the level advantage for all those championship seasons.

This, tbh. Obviously the Diablo's and Wellingtons of the world are very, very good, but for 3+ seasons they had levels on everyone.

Also, somewhat obviously, competition is better in the lower leagues when Detroit was coming up vs. when Diablo, Athens, etc were coming up. If you saw some of the builds on our Season 10 championship team you would

Ya joe, and I'm not saying the Muscle didn't outlevel a bunch of the competition either. But for the most part it was plus or minus 3 levels typically. There weren't many casual farm teams either back then. I think what hurts casual nowadays at the low caps is 5 seasons ago everybody and their brother bought a casual team as a farm for their regular team.

No, it's actually the non-boosters. Or at least that's what's been hurting Athens' farm team. And to clarify a point, I'm definitely not arguing that the Diablo/Wellington juggernaut weren't great teams, and only won because of levels. Obviously that's too simplistic. But the level of understanding in the casual game has gone way up since the wild days of Season 8-13 or so. And a big part of that is because of Casual Pro.

No change in anything Casual elite imo actually.

There are alot of the same seriousness.

Teams like the Muscle, Lizards etc, are very, very good new teams but teams listed in this thread too were just as dominate if not more so:

http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=4203194

So i don't see anything new that says the depth of real compettion is better now then they were back then. Sure we put together a huge untouchable streak as did the Spits in leagues that featured only 2-3 real Pro rosters but spanned over 4 seasons with re-shufflin and all, there were MANY chances experienced teams like the Runners, Athens, Armageddon, Phantoms, etc could have de-railed it.

I'll say more about this but i just got paged, gotta go damn it!

I used to live on a pager, and will likely live that way again. But, for the moment, all is well.

As for teams like the Runners trying to derail things over those four seasons (Seasons 14 and 15 actually), we just weren't there yet, level-wise. We have a group of agents who stuck thru it until we could catch up. Also, it made recruiting much less painful.
