Hey, I've been tasked to scout for a new HB for my team however I know next to nothing about good HB builds.

It seems like a lot of the guys out on the market are backups looking to get a starting gig. Can y'all give any advice for evaluating a build, in particular one who has been a backup?

Obviously, I'd love to find someone with 50 speed, strength, agility, vision, carrying with a healthy dose of stamina, confidence and catching...but seeing as we don't have any level 40 players yet... advice is appreciated.

It would depend on the level. With any player you are scouting, you should look and see if they have custom equipment. That's always a plus. Talk to them and see if they plan on boosting. Talk to their owners to see if they are team players.

For a HB make sure that they have a balanced build. If they are elusive make sure they have enough agility for their skills to kick in. And stength for a power back. And both backs should have some decent speed. Crappy builds are easy to spot. Putting a bunch of points in special abilities, especialy if they have some in both trees. They have to have enough stamina to stay in the game and enough carrying to hold on to the ball.

That's my 2cents anyway.

I'd compare the O-Line of your team w/the O-Line of the team they are on. If they have amazing stats on the current team they might do horribly depending on your setup. The average/carry is also one of the best ways to judge a RB.

How much agility is enough to have the skills kick in?
