Forum > Casual Leagues > Trying to stop a team with 2 Rushing QB's??
Link

Any Ideas. It's a team with one agent owning all the players and he has pretty decent builds. TWO rushing QB's so they don't get tired and I have tried the LB spy's with no success in the past so does anybody have anything better? I will probably go with a SS spy but really don't think that will be enough. I tried 3-4 defense with spy's but they just run into the O-line and get caught up. Outside rushing will be around 90% and probably balanced around 90-100% so were not giving up huge TD's when the CPU guesses wrong. Other than that I'm not sure if I should go with a high blitz % and also the defend short/medium/long settings are a ? mark for me. I have done tons of testing but just can't seem to figure it out.

In the lower levels rushing QBs are really hard to stop... especially in casual. In the higher levels, rushing QBs are pretty useless IMO... because the dots have gotten more balanced and can stop them easier.

I figured it out!! It helped that our defense is amazingly fast but the settings were good as well. I will post them on here just to help others out with this problem. They worked for us and we were supposedly the underdogs according to the effective levels and LOL Bars but like I said we had the speed we needed.

4-3 defense (could work with 3-4)

0% Blitz (key)

70 run - 30 pass

0 run inside defense - 100 outside defense

100 defend balanced (key to keep away from lopsided defenses)

100 man to man (LB's take to long in zone to react to the ball)

Defend short 60% - Defend medium 35 - Defend long 5%

I think the 0% blitz helped a lot since it kept everybody in on each play. If we blitz and the cpu guesses the wrong side that LB/CB is now out of the play. Here is the game if you would like to watch the defense in action. Our team with these settings id the Ruffians.

The key is definetely the 0% blitz, don't think that the CPU will blitz anybody other than a LB in casual but an outside run will take that blitzer out of the play at the lower levels even if the rush is to his side as the play recognition will take too long.

Damn wish I would of read this yesterday. Played a team with 2 Rushing QBs, we won 80 to 45 to win the title but it shouldnt have even been that close considering I outleveled him by quite a bit.

But thanks for the info it will come in handy in the future as I figure we will both be in the same conference next season.

I have been able to stop rushing QBs regularly at the low levels with this:

3-4 defense

0% Blitz

75 run - 25 pass

100 outside defense

100 defend balanced

85 zone 15 man to man (OLB's will cover the flats and LOS on most plays and are far enough away to not get blocked by the OL and are fast enough to get to the QB before the RBs have time to block them.)

Defend short 90% - Defend medium 5 - Defend long 5%

I think your gonna find this different once the arch-types hit the higher levels. So much easier now to make running QB's that can throw so tagging will be a bitch. If they ever add any option/rollouts and the Scrambler will rule
