Now that we can pick to add SA"s what are the better choices for a Receiving TE?

Seems as though catch fake has been working pretty good since implemented last season. First Step, Juke, and Spin are also options. If I were building one today I would probably pick Catch Fake.

Went with catch fake, 60 BT's were steep but got a nice +3 agility CF piece now.

Why Catch Fake over others?

Some that appealed to me are Brace 4 Impact, Catch in Stride, and First Step.

Initially, my guy has the One-Hand Catch so I'd be willing to trade that for two others.

because it was super OPd last season. and while it doesnt work on streak type routes anymore, it apparently got a buff for all other types of routes, and so however good it was last season, it should be even better now.

and the logic is where?

it was over powered because you could fake at any time during your route. now it is limited to faking only when you make cuts, so even with the buff it will fire far less often than it did last season. definitely got nerfed

Any other suggestions? Catch ball 5%, Route Run, Quick Cut, or First Step?

the logic is that TEs dont only run streak routes.

For a Speed/Agility TE

Catch Ball is always a Great one to have <---- you can't do anything until you catch the ball first
First Step would be second for me <------------ This is the best way for you to create separation then comes the Catch Ball %
Spin/Juke would be a nice 3rd <------------------ Once you get your separation and make the Catch, lets try to break a tackle somehow

I would get Route Run and Sticky Hands to a natural 10 since they are 1 and 2 on the SA tree

If your going to go with a 4th AEQ I would try to get one that would be a bonus to Spin or Juke
Spin <----- Break Tackle %
Juke <----- Fake Chance %

just my opinion of course

For me personally,

Catch ball #1
First Step #2
Catch ball #3
First Step #4

Then you naturally get RR to 10, FS to 10 with AEQ, and Catch ball in the 30s

I like that approach; however, I would modify it up a bit by saying to ignore spin/ juke. I don't like receivers who try to be good at everything. Either be a speedster with insanely high FS and catch chance, or go possession with catch chance and brTk/juke.

The idea is you only have so much room for AEQ and since TE's don't have First Step by default, that's one piece for Catch Chance, another for FS, another for fake chance... you're spreading yourself out too much. Most players from team Valhalla seemed to enjoy two AEQ pieces of the SAME % bonus, despite the Bort nerf, so I'd go two catch % and two FS with the bonus SA as "Brace for Impact," since knocked loose passes are a major issue for TE's manned on hard hitting SS's and LB's.

How about Nerves of Steel? Isn't it supposed to help with that? Because if it does, obviously it's much better to prevent knocked loose passes with VAs than SAs.

You don't want to spend any SP on your SA Trees. Do it all with AEQ. Especially now it's rather easy to have 4 pieces of AEQ.

The only good advice I got here was to get Route Run.

I have Juke and Bort says it does help you get open, but it seems to do minimal for me. Sim doesn't tell you when it fires so it's hard to tell.

If I could pick and choose, I may go for something like this (and this order works well for youru career)
1. Route Run
2. First Step
3. Catch Ball % (added around L40)
4. Catch Ball % (added around L56)

And later around level 56+ you may want to get Quick Cut to 7-8 with SP.
