because Gradkowski isn't a lazy asshole...

Also, I'm sure you've noticed that Russel got released today. That is one step in the right direction for the raiders.

I did. And I was happy. I am anti-Russell (you may have noticed) and while I'm not a Raider fan it bugs me when unproven players are given a boat load of money and then don't put in any effort. With the decent Raider draft, I also think things are [finally] moving in the right direction.

this basically sums it up, and it is all because Al Davis is a stubborn idiot

I suspect it's father time that is Al Davis's enemy, not stubborness (although he is quite stubborn). What I see is someone that feels the window of time to win another superbowl slipping away daily and his decisions reflect that. Russell was a dreamers pick... not a smart one. And the constant hiring and firing of coaches, the daily meddeling in the teams affairs, drafts, trades, and decisions... instead of hiring a superior GM and handing those duties off to him(or even a her) and staying out of it. Just look at Dan Snyder... he's begining to figure it out slowly. Even George Steinbrenner got the message after looking like an idiot for a few years (although he still was very impatient at times). Al knows his days as team owner are racing by him now and his actions are of desperation... not intelligence. I kinda feel for the guy but not enough to patronize him. If he wants another ring, then he needs to let go of the wheel and let someone else drive while he rides. Otherwise he'll just keep grasping at straws and making quick fixes that don't work until time for him really does run out.
