Gotcha. Also... I made him 6'8" 276lbs. Kinda ridiculous, I know. The weight isn't much more than your average NFL TE, but his height is about 4-5 inches more than the average. Maybe because of that I can train vision and jumping less...

I would get min weight. 230 lbs.

My TE just happens to be min weight in the old system - 220 lbs. and 6'5" which was near the max height at the time.

There are discussions that min weight is huge for speed WR's. It may apply to speed TE's also.

I'm sure you'll still run over guys at 230 as combo backs are in that range.

An update: He's started his second season and I've already started to see some positive things. Look at these plays:

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=1204559&pbp_id=1065146
http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=1204559&pbp_id=1064164

Despite my plan of not trying to compete until level ~45 he's already starting to show signs of being beastly.

Dude, are you really bragging about scoring against a CPU defense 6 levels lower than you?

No, I'm not bragging. I'm saying that there are some early positive signs. The one thing that surprised me were his broken tackles. I just wasn't expecting to see any kind of good games this early, even against a mostly CPU team defense (some dots were human). At this point I guess I am surprised and intrigued by any positive signs. You're right though, probably too early to be getting excited.

On a side note... my two other TE builds have never had a game like that.

I started a power receiving TE back in S6. He's very good at breaking tackles, but his speed and agility just aren't high enough to get the ball that often. If you are content with 2-3 receptions a game, then they are fun to watch.

He hasn't had a drop in three seasons and he breaks at least one tackle every time he touches the ball.

Thanks for sharing, Eli. My theory on power receivers is if you want a great receiver you need to limit as many SP's as possible in other categories like blocking, catching, vision, jumping, stamina, and use VA's and SA's to pick up the slack in those areas.

I wish there were a new build generator script out for the new training system. This and the new equipment just totally changed my plan. Anyone know if there is a new script being built?

Power receiving TE's don't seem worth it.
I made one a while back, he was crudely built but did well his first two seasons... and then as other dots finished speed and began rounding out their builds he was targeted less and less, and broke less and less tackles until he was an exclusive red zone threat because of high catching.

Once coverage began working on jumping and vision anytime my TE was targeted the ball was batted down because he wasn't fast enough to create enough seperation to avoid the PD, and I had no jumping to contest the roll.

Without catching, vision, jumping, or enough speed to seperate i don' think a power TE will be viable because he won't get the ball in his hands often enough.

This was probably because you spent a lot of SP's in bringing jumping, catching and vision to the first and second caps. The VA's and SA's are going to have to take place of those, I think.

Under the old builder my level 63 he had:

Strength: 84
Speed: 85
Agility: 74
Jumping: 38
Stamina: 42
Vision: 49
Confidence: 26
Catching: 49
Carrying: 26

This was just my first go through with the builder. I think with the new multi-train system these attributes could be the same or higher.

That was my point, I didn't spend SP's on jumping or vision because i was investing in STR and SPD, and CAT... the build was hobbled... h wasn't fast enough to create seperation, and wasn't good enough at fighting for the ball to contest most PD rolls... he pretty much relied on high STr and high CAT to contest for the ball when the PD roll was lost... and then he barely broke any tackles, and when he did he made it another 2 yards at most before getting gnged up on due to low AGI... so I just gave up on him before getting him out of his 30's... The amount of tim needed to build one right, and the amount of useless seasons invested in one just doesn't seem worth it. There are not enough SP's to go around to make the build viable.
