Holy hell I'm done trying to figure things out.
1st I read the original set of changes.Once or twice each to absorb it all in.
Then I read it a 2nd time with revised crap already.
Should I just check back in all 3 threads again in 5-10 days to read 3 new revised threads?
Sorry but I see why everyones frustrated.

It actually looks better this time around. It's all boiling down to getting extra BT's to do additional stuff for your player.

I am not sure I understand why training has to be changed at all?

I am sry but after reading 140+ pages on financial changes, I have jumped straight to this thread and skipped the first Trainig changes thread, so if it already has been answered pls summarize.

IMO having a player should be the easist, simplest form of playing dotball. Something you can do and do well without checking the site daily.
Good dot building is by no means simple as is, I dont know any good builders who think so, and the forums are filled with threads about how to do this, how to tweak that, and with arcehtypes is has gotten even more interesting.

Now it seems a lot more complicated....is their a real need or demand for it?
This said from someone trying to keep the Yes hat on, and appreciate that you guys are trying to make GLB better.

Training seemed to me like the best functioning part of the game, and one you could also in periodes of your RL where you dont have the time to be in here all the time.

My 2 cents

- edited for spelling

still makes no since, at first a lot of noobs join, know ideal how to build, buy custom eq, then told to retire and start over, then a big flex sale comes along, then a new change to have most retire there builds and start over, many good agents and teams lined up now for the pro's 10 season's from now. Finally know how to build and preplaned all my builds out for the next 10 season's, load up on custom eq, but now back to square 1, quite a scam you got going here.

Building... be it slow building was the best part of GLB to me. Now it is changed into something that i cant even imagine what it will be. this is a S1 vet talking here. how many of us alpha and S1 guys are left playing?

this change is just change for the sake of change and to rid of slow building cause of a few whiners

Ok I have done my best to decipher the changes and offer some constructive feedback:

The graduated discount on buying shopping tokens with bonus tokens doesn't seem appropriate. Shopping is an exercise in gambling so in essence you take a risk buying one at a time and hoping you get lucky vs buying a bunch at a discount and attempting to stack the odds. This just seems like a way to add to a players frustration. Either way, you end up wasting BT's with the possibility of being truly frustrated if you went big and bought 20 shopping tokens and still didn't find what you were looking for. The possibility for frustration simply goes up with the AEQ and the enhanced shopping option. This is one of those elements where someone with a spreadsheet is going to nail down the 'sweet spot' of earning/spending BT's on these various options to come up with the best profile to max out stats.

The training of multiple attributes will be another area where min/max gamers will invest their time coming up with a recipe for specific archetypes. This is further exacerbated by the various levels of training intensity and the enhanced training options.

The reality is that the more of these kinds inter-related unlocks that impact player performance increase the differential in results between a new/casual dot and the experience/well planned dot. When you consider the element of well-coordinated teams being stacked with dots with an increased differential in performance, it establishes an environment where the average player is never going to get an MVP award, or even get to see themselves on a highlight reel, (even though it's an imaginary highlight reel).

I can't imagine how anyone can see these changes as something that would be a draw for new-comers or more casual players to want to stay playing the game. At the end of the day, any system that impacts performance will be sliced and diced to end up with a sweet spot by min/max gamers. The more effort and complexity that goes into that system increases that differential performance I highlighted above and becomes a hostile environment for the entertainment value of the average player who simply doesn't want to be bothered with investing that much effort to build at least a competitive dot.

Just for the sake of disclosure, I am a min/max gamer myself. I would probably spend the time building models in Excel identifying the best choices based on the criteria we had information for and identify the approach for building the best archetypes over the course of a 10+ season career. But I know most people won't do that and won't even scour the internet for finding that information.

At the end of the day, Bort and co have to decide who their customers are and how the business model supports that customer base. I personally see GLB being able to appeal to the average football fan rather than the propeller-head who also likes football. I cannot see how the proposed changes would appeal to the average football fan.

its now become so far from what it was meant to be in S1 its not even funny. now you need to be a FF nerd with a TI195 calc to even wanna start playing this game.

I've been around since season 1, and this isn't even the same game anymore if all these changes go through

oh well, it was fun while it lasted

Still changes nothing in my opinion of the game at the moment. Retiring nearly all my dots and selling my team on day 41.

It shouldn't affect slow building.

I would like to know this too.

Also, I understand you will be giving a 2 for 1 deal for BT if you sell your AEQ prior to the start of season 16.
Now, if you just keep the AEQ and sell it after the start of season 16 will you get a 24 BT refund per upgraded level? This will essentially make the BT exchange rate a 3 for 1 deal.

OK. More than 3 words. I like the direction the changes to player building are heading and I think the change is good. I just think it's important to pare down to the key elements as much as possible.

About the adv eqp store, does it still scale based on level?

Will a level 55 dot, who upgraded to this point: "40 bonus tokens = 4 additional items in the store and items do not delete after purchasing", will he have 5 items in his store (1 + 4 additional) or 10 items (6 + 4 additional)?
