1. Can you please describe the process in which a fake occurs? How and when do the rolls for Head Fake and Juke occur, and are there different attributes for WR's and RB's to help trigger them? Like with Power Through and Lower the Shoulder, can someone fail a juke roll and still head fake someone?

When a defender gets close enough, the carrier can initiate a move. He gets to roll for each type of fake, starting with the best until one works or the exhaust the list. You generally want good carrying, agility and vision to pull them off effectively, and good agility and vision to counteract them. Also, whenever the carrier makes a big enough cut, defenders can find themselves getting faked. For WR's without the ball, carrying doesn't matter. It does when they get the ball though. - Bort

2. Do you plan on offering more free players in the future, or was that a one time reward for the introduction of archetypes?

No, this was a one time deal to celebrate the roll out of the archetypes. It's possible we'll do it again some day, but I wouldn't expect it. - Catch22

3. Does Never give up work on all sides of special teams including kickoff coverage and kick returns, punt coverage and punt returns?

It works on anyone who has fallen down, anywhere, to make them get up faster. That doesn't include fakes, though! Fakes are a different mechanics. - Bort

4. You and Bort have both mentioned a new training system. Is this going to be a major overhaul like the old rollover-training->token-training or a few minor adjustments in the intense combo's and such. Could you tell us a little bit more about it? And tell us when more will be revealed?

I don't want to reveal too many details because it's still in development/discussion phase but the development plan should be posted on the live server by the end of next week, if not sooner. It is going to be a major overhaul. Among the things that will be possible... training any two attributes of your choosing at once, training any three attributes of your choosing at once, improved shopping capabilities including the ability to pick your own prefix and suffix, and the ability to swap or add extra SA's - Catch22

5. SA Head of Steam description says "bonus to avoiding pancakes and blocks while blitzing". Does the "blocks while blitzing" part refer to a break block bonus or is this strictly an anti-pancake SA for LBs/CBs/Safeties?

Both. - Bort

6. It appears there is some kind of governor on the speed of DTs as they run through the pocket, is that correct? I've noticed for a couple seasons that my DT's pursuit is about half speed once he's in the backfield between the guards/tackles, then after he makes it out of the pocket area he spurts up to top speed.

Any blitzing player will slow down when trying to fight through the line, same as a RB trying to fight through the line. With enough space, he'll get through without slowing down. That usually is done my blitzing LB's more than DT's, though, just by the nature of their job. - Bort

7. Once a Te or WR catch the ball and break the initial tackle, is this like a HB where carrying is more important than strength, or would strength be more important or something else?

Same as a HB carrying the ball. Once any player has the ball and is running downfield with it, he is treated the same. - Bort

8. Question about broken tackles and SAs: How big of an affect does Agility have in making the Spin SA fire and cause a broken tackle? Is it more important than Strength or Carrying in the break tackle roll in this specific situation (the Spin SA firing)? Can powerback SAs (LTS, SA, PT) fire immediately after a catch past the LOS at the same rate as a running play?

Agility is more important for spin. The roll to see if spin works relies on agility, and agility determines the bonus from the skill. Other skills use strength. Special abilities have no penalties after a catch, other than those from balance loss that might occur from a bad catch or missed tackle. Fake abilities actually have a bonus right after the catch, though break tackle abilities do not. - Bort

9. Will it be possible for rivalry points to be tallied retroactively between teams that have not faced demotions if this is enacted in
future seasons?

No, they will not be tallied retroactively. They will be accumulative from season 14 going forward. - Catch22

10. Catch, you've been working for GLB almost three months now. How do you like it and how is it going?

It's been interesting to say the least. I'll be honest, it's harder then I thought it would be and while I knew I would devote a lot of time to working for GLB, I didn't think I would devote this much time. All in all though I can't complain. I get paid to help run a great game and most of my interactions with GLB customers are great. - Catch22

11. Does the weight of a player factor in the knocked loose roll? i.e. will a heavier player WR have a better chance to hold on to the ball than a lighter one?

Yes, same as weight factors into a fumble roll. - Bort

12. What actually triggers Pummel? Is it:
- OLineman losing the BB roll
- OLineman winning the BB roll
- Randomly whenever a BB roll occurs regardless of who wins
- or some other triggering situation that I cannot thing of

Pummel (and Hands) activate whenever there is a break block attempt, no matter who wins. - Bort

13. How can you tell from a replay if Turn Shoulder activates? It's usefulness is not apparent. Also, does it work better on players with high strength or carrying or something the way superior vision works better with high vision?

Carrying and strength will help it work better, mainly because those go into breaking tackles. Usually when the QB manages to avoid a tackle in a situation where the tackler is right on him in his face, it is from Turn Shoulder, though he could also just have broken the tackle naturally. The tackler will generally fall down from the miss. - Bort

14. Will the Scatback SA stack with the Route Run SA? A scatback would have to get RR advanced equipment to do this obviously. Will they stack though?

Yep. - Bort

15. I've seen that custom defensive spots ROLB1/ROLB2, etc. aren't going to happen. I'm curious to know what the rationale for that is.

Increased complexity that is mostly unneeded by most coordinators, and to keep silly substitutions in check. We would like to finish an intermediate tactics function before adding more complexity like that, so more people can get involved coordinating. - Bort

16. Is there any any relation between Monster Hit SA and the tackling style tactics? I mean, would MH be less effective with wrap-up style and more effective with power style? And, having MH with power style will traduce in even more missed tackles?

No relation. Monster Hit or Big Hit are simply a bonus to tackle power. - Bort

17. Does increasing an SA from 0 to 1 give the same increase as going from 5 to 6, and the same as going from 9 to 10?

Depends on the SA and how it works, and how you define "increase." For most of them, the gain in output is linear, so math says that at higher levels a 1 point increase is a smaller percentage gain than a 1 point increase at lower levels. Going from 1 to 2 is doubling the skill's value, while 9 to 10 is not. - Bort

18. Are HBs, FBs, and TEs able to use the Go To Guy VA? And a follow up question, if the answer is yes, if an HB and FB both have Go To Guy on the same play, which one does the bonus get applied to?

Yes, it applies. It goes to whoever is earlier in the QB's checkdown order. - Bort

19. I had thought the TCKL emphasis had been stated somewhere to kick in especially 'when tackling from the front'. Correct me if wrong please. If mainly 'from the front', does this include Diving tackles? What types of tackles does it not weigh in not as much?

Tackling skill has, for quite a while, been more important when tackling from the side or rear, while strength is more important from the front. This is still the case, but this season we increased the tackling part of the from the front formula a bit. Diving tackles follow the same rules, but are penalized in general and require jumping (and/or diving tackle SA) to make up the penalty. It's not very common to see a diving tackle from the front, however, so take that fact into account. - Bort

20. So many have complained about various components of the game, what their vision of it should be, but no one's taken the time to ask you how you felt about it. This is your baby, what aspects of the game do you think should be improved, stayed the same or be removed, but won't because of how the user base would feel about it? How do you feel about the current league structure? Did you prefer what you had before?

There's lots of stuff I've held back on in the past due to certain users' outcries, though we are now trying our best to just push forward and get them done ASAP so we can push all the stuff live and have a stable product. I'd been thinking about archetypes in some form or another for a long time, as well as the new system we are working on for stadiums, training, and coaching. A lot of the stuff we are doing now has been "in the works" since we launched the site. I'm glad to see it coming to fruition, even if some people don't care for it. I like the league structure for the most part now, with the elite leagues, rivalry points, and such, especially as we are enforcing stricter promotion rules. I've seen more banter in the minor league forums than I've seen in a while, and I think that will improve as teams move up together. The pyramid is having some contraction issues at the moment, but I think as we get past this huge group of low level players, that will start to fill back out. We're already seeing more lv 46 and 42 leagues than before, and more are coming based on the bulging lower leagues. The old system worked fine when everyone was roughly the same level, but it was just not going to work forever, and we started to see that in the BBB leagues where lv 1 teams were facing lv 50's, and the number of actual teams at a particular level range didn't stay static. - Bort

21. If you could undo one thing that you've done in regards to GLB, what would it be and why?

I'd have stuck to my guns on stadiums and ticket prices from when we first launched. Lower tier teams made piddly money compared to the upper tier teams, which made them truly lower tier and incentivized moving up. The lowest tier teams now have it easy when it comes to that. We'd have likely had a lot less headaches with the league structure for sure, and might have even ended up with something other than the minor league system we have now. There were several things I compromised on early in the site's life because we were worried about just growing the business and keeping customers. In the end, we realized that you can't please everyone.

22. Which Admin most looks like their avatar?

Pallow. He's got the mustache and everything. Though DD has had his photo as his avatar at certain points, so maybe him, when that was the case. - Bort
