Nigerian Nightmares Shock The World And Topple The Stampede
SOURCE: www.nigarianownage.com

In what can only be considered a tremendous upset in the Eastern Conference of the Canadian Pro League of the professional football world, the upstart Nigerian Nightmares defeated the undefeated Calgary Stampede in their own house by the shocking score of 27-17!

Despite the Nigerian Nightmares being formed only a day ago, the band of misfit football renegades were able to work together and proved to be an extremely conventional unit as a whole. After an emotional motivational speech given by team General Manager Christian Okoye dealing with the passion he has for the sport, the team took the field as amped up as any I've personally ever seen. It took less then 60 minutes of grindhouse-esque gridiron football for the Nightmares to prove they belong with the best in Canada as well as the world.

The Stampede took an early first quarter lead after RB Jamal Green pounded in a Touchdown one yard out from the End Zone after receiving the Opening Kick Off and marching down the field. Calgary then added three more points in the earl goings of the second quarter from a 32 Field Goal by Chris Orosz. The Stampede look confident as the first half wound down, but with 1 minute left before half time, QB Jeff Garcia connected with HB Lord Shme from 7 yards out to score the first ever Touchdown in the Nightmares one day history! The team's bench and even some of the crowd roared in celebration as the Nightmares headed into the half down by 3, 10-7.

After the Half Time Celebration, the Nigerian Nightmares stomped back onto the field and took the game by storm in the Third Quarter. Besides holding Calgary to no points what-so-ever, backup FB Chris Slade charged into the end zone from 2 yards to make the score 14-10. Nearly five minutes later, Jeff Garcia threw a strike to back-up HB JR Bird to increase the lead to 21-10. 2 minutes into the Fourth Quarter, Calgary's Tyler Lucas would rush in for a TD, drawing the Stampede closer with a 21-17 score count. But in the end, the veteran leadership of Garcia would prove to be too much as he threw his third touchdown to TE Kevin Gregory.

The team of recently assembled football players were extremely elated after their high performance. Some players even took it upon themselves to dance all over the stadium, from the field to the stands to the ladies restrooms. Nightmares GM Christian Okoye said it best when he stated "Hell yeah we won, the **** were you expecting? This isn't Techmo, this is smash mouth ass kicking, I mean football." With the win the Nightmares improve their record 3-3 and currently land themselves in 9th place in the Conference, leaving them one spot out of the Playoffs. If this triumphant victory over the previously unbeaten Stampede is any indication, opposition should be on the look out for the clearly dangerous Nigerian Nightmares. Because they have their targets undoubtedly locked onto a Playoff spot.
