You are seriously complaining about free flex?

Are you serious? The 70% flex we get back was always build into the financial model and without it most people here wouldn't pay for the flex because the cost would be high.

The 70% refund is simply a retainer.

I'm sort of on the same page as GrogMan.

Giving free points isn't something new that's being implemented now - we've always gotten them. This "reward system" is a way of giving users less. Why isn't it just called "Non-refundable flex system?" I don't understand the rewarding part if this is actually a reduction.

A reward system, to me, would be giving the users more flex each season based on how long they've been a member. Like every few months/seasons, you'll get X more flex each season. Anything like that. You'd be rewarding loyalty, giving the users something to look forward to for when they'll reach the next plateau, and giving the users more motivation to stick around longer if they otherwise wouldn't.

It may even motivate non-boosters to buy flex. Let's be honest, 100 points is very little anyway. The way it is now, especially without refunds, a non-booster knows they'll never get X amount of flex unless they buy them so they're either going to 1) break down and buy or 2) stop playing. I think you'll lose more people this way. If they were given more of a taste and knew they'll get more flex if they stick around long enough, you'll lure them in and keep them coming here. They'll experience first hand what more flex can do - build new positions/boost/buy CEQ and they'll only want more. You want people to become addicted. Addiction will bring more money in, not deprivation.

+1 to GrogMan

Free players are more than just a drain on Bort's pocket book. I think they can have a place in this game, namely expanding the user base. I've been a free player since about the beginning of GLB time. I have been stockpiling free FPs for about as long. I have finally found a team that is fun and competitive. I had been thinking that I will finally probably purchase some FP to keep leveling with this team and enjoying the ride. With this change, I can see the writing on the wall and will probably just fade away.

I have no problem with Bort doing something to identify who is paying and who is along for the free ride. I just think he should consider that those along for the free ride are not cancerous, and could actually be turned into paying customers.

I agree with you on this as this was how I started out.I used the free flex and was trying different things and then when I found a team I liked I wanted to hang so I bought flex to keep up with the team.I know not all do this but I think as the game grows on some they do in time buy the flex.
I don't like this new system as like I have said before its not a reward its a loan program now.If I have to watch two banks and make sure I am drawing from the right one each time I make a player/s then thats just more to worry over and keep track off to me.I truly believe many agents on here thought this reward program was going to be something much better then this way.
I am thinking this is becoming more of a pain then a bonus and with so much going into effect all at once this season its going to make one hell of a nightmare I think. Not to sound ungrateful or rude but you can pass me up for this new program as I will just pay or not for my own flex and then it wont have so many strings attached.I am sorry but I don't see this as a reward system like so many had thought it was gonna be.

So these are basically just non refundable flex points that you have restricted uses for??Seems like just another way GLB is trying to move this game more in favor of the frequent buyer..I use to buy Flex every season and it adds up fast i costs about 10 bucks a month to keep a glamour player going those few free points we got every every season were very nice kind of like a thanks we apreicate you..Now it seems like GLB now that it is a little bigger really doesnt apreciate the average player anymore..Just another way for them to squezze an extra dime out of us..

I think it's more of making the freebies not paying you When you retire your free flex you get it back now, making you able to just build more and more free players. With the new system, you are stuck with the 400 flex you start out with. I like it.

you could look at it that way, but if he starts rewarding frequent boosters there is a tradeoff.

Maybe you don't mean to sound ungrateful, but you do. GLB is an established gamer at this point, the free player has served it's purpose. There is NO reason for GLB to let you retain 70% of a reward he gives you. It's more like a loan and not a gift? How do you figure, you used those flex points to build a player and get "X" amount of use out of him. That's not a loan, once that player is done, it's done. Excuse GLB for not giving you an additional gift.

Jedi you've played the game for 2 years and haven't spent a dime. Where exactly has GLB benefitted from this? They give you a player[s] and you essentially get ALL the same features as someone who pays. It costs money to keep this site going. At the end of the day this is a business, and free users aren't supporting that fact.

Why can't they just offer these RP's as a bonus to players who buy FP's? This way you get people to buy more and not lose out on to much money later. you can scale back the amount of points you start with or the amount you give out in freebies. If you start out with 300 FP's you wont be able to buy a team but you can make at least 1 - 3 players with that. That will eliminate people making pee wee teams or buying a team with a multi account. It will also allow for beginners to mess up and try again with full flex refunds.

Fair take, but in those two years, my house has lost all it's equity, I've had two kids, I've had to take a pay cut and my wife is no longer working. What GLB has got from me is loyalty. And if you would've read my full post you would've realized that I was preparing to purchase FPs. So yeah, not every situation is as black and white as everyone seems to think here.

Are referral flex points going to be returned upon retirement of a player, or will they go away too with the free flex points? That information would be very important to know prior to day 41 for agents of players that are high levels with a few seasons left, built with free, referrals, bought, or a combination of all three. If I had a player built primarily on referrals and free flex, and I knew on day 41 of this season I would lose those pointsforever, I would want to retire them before Day 41 to build a new player. Just saying...

Also, I think there should be some grandfather clause in all this rewards program. Has that been considered?

Note to admin, thanks for free flex!

If there's one thing I've learned in my internet life (before GLB as well), people will complain about ANYTHING on the internetz. Something about being able to hide behind a monitor gives people a great feeling of entitlement and power.

Pot callin the kettle there.

No you wont get free flex like in the past as it has been converted to a new system. If I have read it right you will have two banks to draw from and use to build etc.If you use the free rewards/loan then those points wont come back to you they are gone forever even if you miss build or screw up a player build they are gone. Not sure about referrals as I don't use them so I don't have that problem to worry about myself.

So rewards points take the place of our free flex points, and if we use them as flex points there is no refund bonus on them...

Is that correct?
