Again myself as a paying customer should be able to choose what I want , and if they want to add penalties I can live with that but don't put constraints on how i'd like to build my player. there should be no confines per se , all this is is more cookie cutter. You'd think even the math guys could see that ?

Just another example of Bort trying to have too much control over how we build our players.

He worries way too much about shit like this. Player building is the best part of this game, yet he always wants to penalize the people that excel in it.

It IS the game tbqf , it's how the game survives if you follow. People better wake up around here imo or we may all be out in the cold sooner than later and I would be mad that I wasn't here when they finished after all the time i've spent here....................lol

Yeah, you're right.. No doubt about it.

How does being fast help your balance?

well, from what i understand, you gain balance as you travel. if you travel faster, you gain balance faster. plus, the more distance you can get in between people hitting you,. the more of a chance you have of breaking the second tackle

faster you move, the smaller the chance you have of falling imo

Guys... While Catch stated that these are set in stone... If you have played GLB for as long as I have... There should be no real surprise that any of this stuff is changing. Come on now. What in GLB remains the same? Not very much. Remember how long they said FG replays were never going to be a part of the sim? Then they finally said it was on the radar... And now it is in the sim.

The Archetype changes are going to be the same. Right now they say they are fixed in granite. But guess what... In about 2 seasons after they introduce this stuff... There is going to be another wave of changes. That is just the way this game works. So don't get bent if the Archetypes change before the even come out... I am sure they will be modified even more between now and Day 41.

wat

Having balance helps you to run fast. Running fast doesn't help you to have balance.

Catch stated they were set is stone and people would get forum banned for making change suggestions and then ONE page later threw out that he was thinking of getting rid of the combo back.

Yes, because the old combo was in no way better than other choices.

It wasn't better at inside runs than power, it wasn't better at elusive running than elusive or scat, it was just better at a combo of the both..made sense to me.

Not for pure inside running. Your HB runs pitches a lot, hes closer to a combo back than a power back, his AEQ just makes him produce like a power.

Apparently there's a big emphasis on having all archetypes with the same number of majors, but there's no particular reason why they should. You can't replace Vision or Confidence with Strength or Agility because that would make it too appealing compared to the other choices, but what if strength became a fifth major? Then you end up with:

HB Combo
5'9" - 6'2", 200-230 Lbs
Major Carrying Confidence Speed Vision Strength (+.4)
Minor Agility Catching Stamina Jumping (+.25)
Bonus SA's - None
Penalty SA's - None

That way it's never going to be as fast as a true elusive or scat back, nor as good at breaking tackles as the power archetype, yet it truly would be a middle ground between the two.

Yep.

ok let me reiterate something.

We're not taking suggestions to changing or adding new archetypes. I'll go add that to the OP. What you see here is what you're getting

this is why I was so surprised to see something changed already.

agreed... i was liking what catch was doing, but this kind of ruined all cred he has with me now. doesnt make sense to say its all set in stone and then change it all of a sudden. if things were as well thought out as he made them sound, a change wouldnt have been needed. if he is going to change them like that, he may as well take suggestions... or better yet. have taken suggestions before "setting everything in stone."

I think you've got to have bigger penalties and stronger benefits to properly balance the archetypes - not just tinkering with ALGs.
