Post game interview with Simon "Howitzer" Horowitz
On Field Reporter: Simon, congratulations on winning the Eastern Conference Championship! You were able to dominate both sides of the line for most the game, what did the coach do or say this week to put you into position to win so convincingly?
Horowitz: He just told us to continue to play within ourselves, and that as long as we focused on our assignments, that he would put us into a position to win.
On Field Reporter: You relied heavily on the run in this game. Was that the gameplan going into the game, or was that just a byproduct of getting ahead early?
Horowitz: Obviously the running game is our bread and butter. With guys like Mati, Adrian, Kirby and Brian back there, we're just very versatile. Throw in Sean and..., man why would coach even want to pass? Ha! Seriously though, we let the game dictate how things are going to go. We watch film and get the gameplan together, but we know that it's always a fluid thing. Whether I come out and hand the ball off all game, or throw it 40 times doesn't matter to me. As long as we come away with the W.
On Field Reporter: Speaking of Sean Boyer, he's been on fire lately. Can we expect more from him in the Championship game?
Horowitz: We'll have to see what happens man. I let coach worry about that stuff.
On Field Reporter: I'm just receiving word now that West-Side Bloods have defeated Sons of Anarchy in the Western Conference Championship by a score of 23-21. Any initial reaction?
Horowitz: Wow, I'm not surprised it was a close game. They're both powerful on offense and intimidating on defense. It's going to be a tough game, but we're going to enjoy this win tonight and then we'll hit it hard tomorrow. No matter what happens, it's going to be an exciting game.
On Field Reporter: Anything you'd like to say to the fans?
Horowitz: The fans of Las Vegas have been amazing. Thanks to all of them for supporting us and making it possible for us to be here today!
On Field Reporter: Well Jo....
Horowitz: Oh yeah, and a special thanks to Blackshirts for providing us all with a little extra motivation with his “...they're in for a rude awakening...” comment earlier this season. Ha! Who says a little bulletin board fodder doesn't help?!
On Field Reporter: Well Joe Buck, there you have it. Simon Howitzer Horowitz of the Sin City Scorpions, headed to the Season 13 League Championship. Back to you...
