I know its a little delayed, but I figured I'd take control of this:

In the West
#1 San Antonio Saviours vs. #8 Rockwall Jackets - Pee Wees
First meeting: SAS 36-0
Tale of the tape: SAS has looked mostly unstoppable all season, shutting out #2 Ohio and manhandling the seemingly quality STARS team. Rockwall has struggled against the West's elite, but played HHF close.
Prediction: SAS, 40-3

#2 Ohio Rage vs. #7 Dayton Pee Wee Flight
First meeting: 45-3 just 2 weeks ago
Tale of the Tape: OR, despite seemingly poor lolbars have had a stifling defense all season, losing only once to SAS. They beat down Dayton last game when they were surging. Dayton had a solid season, however, beating HHF and playing other elites like SAS close. However, they have struggled in the last two games.
Prediction: OR, 23-0

#3 Hobbittown Hairy Feet vs. #6 All American Wolverines
First meeting: HHF 10-7
Tale of the Tape: Both teams have been solid, but with some anomalies. HHF only put up 3 on SilkRoad, and the Wolverines ended their season poorly, losing 5 of their last 7 including a 3TD loss to a non-playoff Penguin Academy team. Their last meeting was close, will this be the same?
Prediction: HHF 14-6

#4 Racoon City S.T.A.R.S. vs. #5 Headbangers Ball
First meeting: Headbangers 27-14
Tale of the Tape: The STARS have been up and down all year. They thrashed Dayton and Rockwall, but had their asses handed to them by SAS and big losses to OR and Headbangers. The Headbangers have played their opponents close all season. Losses to Gondwana by 3, SAS by 7, OR by 14, and HHF by one crippled their record. Their loss to Penguin was an anomaly, but their first showing against the STARS was strong.
Prediction: Headbangers 10-9

In the East
#1 Tallahassee Beatdown vs. #8 Lone Star Water Moccasins
First Meeting: Tallahassee 91-7
Tale of the Tape: In the much less deep Eastern conference, Lone Star beat the bottom feeders and squeaked into the playoffs. Tallahassee indeed beat down their opponents all year, except Gondwana and Darkus. Their victory over Montgomery was very strong and their thrashing of Oahu was extraordinary.
Prediction: Much the same as the first, Tallahassee 98-0

#2 Montgomery Manglers vs. #7 Gondwana Raptors
First Meeting: Montgomery 26-14
Tale of the Tape: Gondwana's early season was strong with a victory over the Headbangers, and close games with Tallahassee, Midland, and Montgomery. Their big win over Darkus was very impressive, but they struggled late in the season against Oahu and especially Saskatoon. Montgomery looked strong all season. They crushed Midland and Saskatoon, as well as beating Gondwana and Oahu handily. Their losses to Darkus and Tallahassee ere still solid performances.
Prediction: Montgomery 45-10

#3 Oahu Firebirds vs. #6 Saskatoon Disgruntled Mailmen
First Meeting: Oahu 48-38
Tale of the Tape: Oahu has looked mostly good all year. They were pasted by Tallahassee and beaten easily by Montgomery and Wolverines. Their defense (or should I say mine) failed in the first game against Saskatoon. They had good wins over Midland and Gondwana, and one of the games of the year against Darkus. Saskatoon has also proven themselves. They were ousted by the elites of Montgomery, Darkus, and Tallahassee, but played Midland and Oahu close. Their thrashing of Gondwana particularly stands out.
Prediction: Oahu 31-16

#4 Darkus Blacks vs. #5 Midland Mudpuppies
First Meeting: Darkus 35-0
Tale of the Tape: Darkus has been solid even without gameplanning (you couldn't imagine I'd leave that out, right Darkus?), with wins over Midland and Saskatoon big and a tight victory over Montgomery. They lost a close one to Tallahassee, and even closer to Oahu. Their loss to Gondwana stands out, but they recovered nicely. Midland thrashed the bottom feeders early in their schedule with their MVP rushing QB, but struggle as of late. Victories over Gondwana and Dayton were impressive early, but late losses to Oahu and Darkus, as well as shellackings by Montgomery and Tallahassee have knocked them out of the elite top 4. They had one quality late season victory over Saskatoon, however.
Prediction: Darkus' gameplanning will lead them to a big win, 48-3

And there you have it. Stay tuned for week 2. See you guys in 3 hrs after the sims

I love these threads.

While I agree that the STARS/Headbangers game will be close, I think we'll turn it around this time. And Darkus is going to choke!

Told you (about the STARS). Good game, HB.

EDIT: Of course, I was wrong about the Blacks. Nice job, Darkus.

Yeah GG Stars, geez all the losses have been close all season

Yeah, your defense is fantastic. We were very fortunate to get a few long plays in that game, or it would have been totally different. If your offense could produce a few more points you'd be virtually unstoppable.

Yeah, I don't know what's up with our LOL bars...I think Bort, or one of his lackeys, reads the forums and follows the leagues, then randomly adjusts the damn bars up or down by a few points here and there just to mess with us...

And after a fantastic punt too--42 yarder OOB on the 4. On the other hand, we didn't throw a pick all season and then you guys pulled a pick six on us. Exciting playoff action!

No problem, we still have plenty of time to choke!

We can always hope for a Saviours/Blacks matchup in the final game. Final score: -3 to -6. Both teams find ways to post negative points in an effort to top each other in playoff choke-y-ness. Winner (loser) TBD.

GG to the Rage. Maybe I am a bit dim (please save yourself on the easy shots), but I am not sure how a team we had by 6 overall on the lolbars shut us out.

They broke off 1 long play in a couple of their scoring drives and had great field position in their first score, but what gives! LOL

Maybe it is time to retire!

Not bad, though our defence managed to hold up a little better than that, 28-10.

GG Manglers, you got a couple of important defensive stops, especially that one inside your 5 to force the FG 14-10. Good job, and good luck next game against Saskatoon, who seem to be very tough at the moment.

They look strong to me, but thats because my D absolutely imploded...I barely changed anything, and it wasn't even on the plays that were exploited. I watched the other games and saw no exploits there at all. I was just all around confused by the defensive play. Good Luck to all in round two. I'll do another of these threads this afternoon
