Hmm... I think I don't get the idea of "power ranking". I wonder how a team is #4 overall while not on top 5 defense and offense. Or how can a team could be on top 2 offense and defense while not in top 5 overall?

The Power rankings include an adjustment for Strength of Schedule, however the offensive/defensive rankings do not adjust according to the SOS. Meaning, that you can have the best offense and best defense and still not be the best team if you have only beaten CPU teams. There is also a "Team Talent" option, which is really a mystery as far as its effects to the standings, it just is well known to be more accurate when included in the first 10 games of the season.

So what exactly does the number for the SoS mean? For example, the Jets SoS is .633 is that harder or easer than the Bucc's .408?

There are other factors besides the 3 stats included that determine rankings. There is "Team Talent" which I think uses the lolbars to judge. It also weighs recent games over earlier games, but I don't know if it changes the SOS number according to this, it might.
